I worked at Colfax full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Pay and Benefits; job descriptions don't match the real expectations.

    Cons

Toxic leadership environment; unrealistic expectations set in backrooms and no buy in with employees

    Advice to Management

Management needs to trust the employees and listen to them. Employees should be seen as resources not pawns.

I worked at Colfax full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Upper management is constantly changing. So if you don't like it, just wait a year.

    Cons

The focus is not on the employees. The focus is only on the bottom line so management gets their bonuses.

    Advice to Management

It's a cliche', but....if you take care of your employees, the employees will take care of you. You don't have to love your job to be a good employee, but you have to at least like it. No one should wake up every morning wondering if their job will still be available when they clock in.

    I worked at Colfax full-time

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

Seems like the cons run that place.

    Advice to Management

Create your own culture, don't try to import one from a different company.

I have been working at Colfax full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits, opportunity for overtime.

    Cons

Management is a collection of cronies from Danaher and Rexnord. They came in and fired all the people with valuable experience and technical knowledge in order to create vacancies for more of their "club". They have a "let them eat cake" mentality. No respect or trust for highly skilled employees. Micromanagement X 10. NO opportunity for internal advancement. They all come from outside and from high volume production environments which have NOTHING in common with out business.

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to cram a square peg into a round hole. We were just sold to Circor, so hopefully this place will soon get a management enema.

I worked at Colfax full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing good about working for this company, this is the worst job I ever had in all my years

    Cons

Work 15 hour days sometimes longer, there is no trust from plant upper management, when plant manager is out, Human Resources runs the place

    Advice to Management

    Drain the swamp

I have been working at Colfax full-time

    Pros

Better than average pay. Better than average benefits.

    Cons

Be prepared to wear a multitude of hats.
Better than 10 hour days without further compensation.
Mid-management is placed in positions of responsibility without authority.

    Advice to Management

You should place as high an importance on "V.O.A."(voice of associates), as you do to V.O.C.

    Pros

There are a few very talented and professional employees in accounts payable and collections!
Overtime for some hourly employees is allowed.

    Cons

This company is unprofessional and unethical.
Management does not tell the EMPLOYEES or CUSTOMERS the truth about many things. You will rarely (almost never) have any promotions from employees in Colfax! Almost all lower and middle management positions are filled from new hires and not from qualified Colfax employees.
There is entirely too much favoritism within this company!

    Advice to Management

Upper management must get involved in making positive changes and not just continue to use "smoke and mirrors" in an attempt to cover up the problems.
