I have been working at Colgate-Palmolive as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I don't see any pros. It's the worst company for people working as civil contractors for them.

    Cons

Contractors employees are treated like slaves. Even watchmen misbehave with staff who are highly qualified and are in reputed position. I feel like I am cursed because I got posted here. Grow up and have some humanity colgate.

    Advice to Management

Contractors who are working for you are also human beings with good education and professional experience. Treat people fairly. Seriously I hate the way you people treat us. One of the worst company to work with if you are a civil contractor.

I have been working at Colgate-Palmolive full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits is about the best I can say

    Cons

There's a reason why so many people have leaving and are continuing to leave the Legal department - it's the leadership - the GC leads with fear and intimidation, she acts 'above' the lawyers who support the business and brow beats all staff for the smallest things, wastes time by having 5,6,7 and 8 lawyers on a call to discuss and decide a minor issue - she does not give any authority to those who had plenty of it for years with previous GC. And her direct reports are now just mini versions of her - pushing people to do more work for less reward and no, I repeat no, praise or acknowledgement of hard work and good results. If you are thinking of joining Colgate's legal team - DON'T - run in the other direction fast.

    Advice to Management

You have to see that the new GC is destroying the Legal department and you have lost and are continuing to lose really talented people because of her lack of vision and leadership. And don't continue to allow promotion of her direct reports - the lawyers below them do ALL the work and get none of the recognition or reward. Disappointing to see how fast Colgate is falling apart - used to be a great place to work but now it's just brow beating, laying more and more people off and expecting those that are still there to carry the load of 2 or even 3 people.

    I worked at Colgate-Palmolive full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, some good people in the organization

    Cons

Series of bad directors in Minneapolis getting blessing from Corporate bigwigs - constant CONSTANT turnover in Minneapolis office due to incompetent leadership.

I worked at Colgate-Palmolive as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing I can think of about.

    Cons

I had to wait everyday in the lobby for 30 mins to 1 hr because they were unable to figure out a way to get me an ID.
I also work in the Army Reserve, so I had to go to drill, but I never let it affect my work at Colgate. They still fired with a performance issue reason.
The managers don't know what they are doing, they were not even able to provide me a work laptop.
I had to work with my own laptop, with a wired connection everyday.
Worst place I ever worked at.

    Advice to Management

    Useless management. Very unprofessional.

    Pros

Great pay and opportunity to make extra money with overtime

    Cons

Management doesn't listen to a word from the employees. You loose faith and trust very quickly in the staff your with. If you don't mind throwing your morals and dignity away, then this is a place for you!

    Advice to Management

Years of experience DO beat a four year degree. Please learn to truly trust in your employees. Management throws away tons of money on impractical ideas and designs.
