Top Tier Technology Employer
Jan 15, 2019 - Systems Analyst in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Large footprint; Collabera has contract IT positions in many States and Cities, and works with large IT employers. Personally, I have had to move a couple of times due to personal reasons and Collabera was able to find opportunities in three major cities in six years. When they get great feedback about their contractors from their clients, they VALUE you as an employee and are very supportive and flexible. They pay market rates for contract assignments, provide good quality insurance, 401K and Health Savings Accounts. They will typically not give you raises unless you ask for them or you work for another Client -- but when asked they do negotiate and we have reached win-win outcomes. If you work hard to make them look good, they will do the same while representing you. Their HR and Benefits teams are very good at communicating and have worked out a few problems I encountered quickly.
Cons
You must manage your own career within Collabera; they will leave you permanently at a post as long as you or their Client are willing to keep you in the same place. If you are proactive about progressing in your career challenges and assuming greater responsibilities you'll need to work with your Collabera team to get their support -- they typically have a more narrow 'Contact Length' view of your engagement with their Clients.
Your input in this review is great to see. We are happy to hear that we were able to assist you as you changed locations and provide opportunities accordingly. Regarding your comments about progressing in your career, we absolutely would like to hear more about your overview, and feedback as to how we can make these things better for you and for others. There is a special email set up for such employee direct communication and we encourage you to reach out to us at your convenience. BusinessExcellence@collabera.com

Pros
They offered medical insurance and that’s about it
Cons
They cut my pay rate for no reason. The client told me that they never cut it. Zero benefits as well no paid holidays or PTO they also didn’t match 401k and I was given no distribution in my HSA. Never will I work here or another company like them

We're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't nearly the one that you - or we - hoped you'd come away with. This is certainly not the takeaway that we, or any company, would want to leave its teammates with. That being said, have you wrapped everything up with us, or is there anything we should still be helping you with. If so, or even if you'd just like to share details of your experience so we can look into it, please feel free to contact us at BusinessExcellence@collabera.com. Either way, thank you for letting us know, and we wish you nothing but the best as you continue with your career.

If you are over 50, take H1B pay and get a job.
Apr 21, 2012 - Software Engineer in Chicago, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you are over 50, take H1B pay and get a job. They are persistent in trying to get their former consultants more work. You can get medical insurance if you ask for it.
Cons
The pay is low for any kind of engineer. Any benefits like medical insurance you pay the full price for out of your base pay. Consultants are not employees and hence are not invited to the customer (actual employer) Fourth of July party. This is not the fault of the company but rather of being a consultant. I was not allowed to telecommute by the customer due to the not trusted status of consultants which slowed down my work and forced extra 50 mile round-trips to the work site. I also got the impression that some vital technical information was being withheld presumably also due to the trust issue and that also impeded my work.

Lowest Paying, Indian Run Consulting Company But in with Big Business
Mar 7, 2012 - Business Analyst in Newark, DERecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Steady work with big companies. Pay is consistent although low. Benefits are offered (for employee to pay themselves) that are more reasonable than self insurance.
Cons
The pay is NOT commensurate with experience, and forget about reviews or raises... This is contracting pure and simple. This company wants you to just work, work, work without any real return on investment aside from the paycheck. And if, when you're hired, a raise is promised you have to ask for it. It took 9 months for my promised raise to be granted, and then the back pay was taxed at 50% as a bonus.

Contract Recruiter with AT&T

From my initial phone interview, the experience was great. Arvind was great to work with during my contract. This is a company I look forward to working with in the future.
Cons
The benefits weren't the greatest or most affordable which I've seen better as a contractor.

Irresponsible, Childish Management
Nov 10, 2019 - Anonymous Contractor in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Yet to find one. Really. Seriously
Cons
Looks like the company is being run by some teenagers. Been 2 weeks at the company and still cannot sign up for (1) ADP - Direct deposit (2) Commuter Benefits (3) 401 k (4) Health Insurance. I have been sent link to sign up for all of these after several requests but none of these benefit providers have actually received my information. One senior child at the company is insisting that I sign up for a Visa Gift card where they will put my salary. Wow. Immature and stupid. Unprofessional.
