I worked at College Track part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can tell that College Track cares a great deal about the students and employees. They offer many paid trainings that teach you to become a better educator. In addition, they offer many resources for students whether they are a top student or a student who is struggling in a class. I believe anyone would benefit from working with College Track.

    Cons

Some days were more hectic, while others were very slow.

I worked at College Track full-time

    Pros

*Mission-driven organization that attracts people committed to improving education
*Several employees have found room to grow internally, including the CEO who rose through the ranks
    *Generous PTO (including summer/winter break)

    Cons

Becoming too top-heavy with managers; turnover; growing pains of a nonprofit

    Advice to Management

Learn from critics outside the organization and continue listening to employees
Continue sharing and working towards greater transparency and communication
Leverage young talent more to innovate; experienced education/nonprofit talent might not be the best solution

I have been working at College Track full-time

    Pros

Love working with first generation college students in high school and college. It is a fantastic job.

    Cons

There is always so much to do. Building a wellness program is a great challenge and one that I really appreciate.

    Advice to Management

Encourage staff self care and create manageable job descriptions. Streamline practices and work smarter.

I worked at College Track part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the best reasons is because of the hourly wage of $13.50/hr if you want to be an academic advisor.

    Cons

Most of the students won't cooperate and listen to you if you ask if they need help. I wouldn't recommend applying to this job in New Orleans.

    Pros

Company culture was very relaxed and it felt like a close knit community. Positive environment with passionate people working together to help the students.

    Cons

The place still used mostly paper and was a bureaucratic nightmare. Little room for career growth and pay was not the most attractive. But it is a non-profit after all.

    Advice to Management
