I worked at College Works Painting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Teaches young men and women how to sell themselves and how to deal with door to door rejection.

    Cons

You have to travel decently long distances at some point during the year.

    Advice to Management

Stay on top of current jobs and be prepared.

I worked at College Works Painting as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

If you can complete the internship you will set yourself apart from your peers and gain invaluable business experience. You will also build an incredible network of career oriented peers that will come in handy down the road.

You will also learn how to overcome setbacks and rejection - something essential to any success story.

    Could be 5/5

    Cons

Time consuming, the company culture tends to encourage missing classes and prioritizing work over school.

    You might not be paid.

While it's not a pyramid scheme, the company follows an unsustainable business model in which screwing over clients is encouraged and there is very little quality control through the entire company.

That being said, your success will also depend on the territory you are assigned. If a previous intern built a reputation of poor quality (I.e. Spilling paint, poor prep work, poor communication with clients, untrained painters, etc) It will be hard, if not impossible to succeed.

    Bottom line: do your research.

I have been working at College Works Painting as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Through the leadership of the management team and my district manager I was able to run a $150,000 business when I was only 19 years old. This internship pushed me lightyears ahead of other people my age in almost every category. Be it communication, management experience, sales experience or anything of the sort, I am completely, without question, confident in the ability of this internship to propel students towards not only a job after graduation but towards genuinely accomplishing their goals in life as well.

    Cons

The internship requires a bit of work but the harder you work, the better you will do and the better you will be set up for the future. I don't have any cons to say, really.

I have been working at College Works Painting as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

From my personal experience being an intern it was a huge change from what I was used to doing before I did this. It was a fantastic experience for me as a gained valuable real world skills that can be applicable to any future job opportunity and it is an incredible resume builder. I have received several job offers from different companies but most importantly it was the people I got to work with that made it so much fun. The culture is fantastic and wouldn't trade it for the world.

    Cons

The internship does require some work however it challenges you to be a better individual and gain those many skills that many others do not have. The whole point of an internship is to learn, make mistakes, and become a better, more responsible individual. If things are too easy then you are not learning anything.

I worked at College Works Painting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to be outside all day get some exercise instead of working some desk job. Work is fun

    Cons

Company is immoral district managers were less responsible then me. I was told I was being paid more then I really was. Other employees due to interns messing things up didn't get paid for over a month endless problems with how this company takes advantage of there employees and don't care since it's only a 1 summer job most of the time. Good idea for a company but poorly executed doesn't take care of hard working employees

    Advice to Management

Have some sense of morallity and quality control

Great work culture where relationships are key

    Advice to Management

It would be beneficial for upper management to be more active/available to branch managers.
