    No opinion of CEO

I worked at College of Marin part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The newly renovated campus is great and the student body is eager to learn. Faculty are knowledgeable.

    Cons

Like all CA community colleges, the adjunct status means that your job is contingent on enrollment and you will forever be anxious at the start of each semester about whether or not you will have a job.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to support part-time staff with with regular work.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at College of Marin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some staff and faculty are exceptional. If you are in the union you have amazing benefits and job security.

    Cons

Administration can take very long time to open a position, highly politicized environment. As a temp you will not be treated as well.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees and take them into consideration when making decisions. Do not allow talented people to leave so quickly.

I have been working at College of Marin part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good compensation and benefits.
Overall, a good working environment in comparison to some other Community Colleges.
    Very strong faculty union.

    Cons

The usual bureaucratic nature of the community college environment. Unavoidable, given the nature of accreditation by WASC.

    Advice to Management

Parking at the Kenfield campus is being chewed up by new construction. Management needs to be reminded that even in "eco-friendly" Marin, faculty and students still drive to campus; that is why is is called a "commuter college"...
