I have been working at Collegewise full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Smartest, most passionate colleagues ever - Lots of autonomy - Great opportunities for constant learning/growth - Flexible schedule - Incredibly supportive manager and coworkers - Collegewise provides amazing resources/structure, but then allows for your own nuanced counseling style to shine through in your work with students - Management open to feedback

    Cons

    - Longer hours in the fall can make work-life balance trickier - Intense families on your caseload (not all, but plenty) - Because Collegewise is growing, there are lots of changes in the organization, comp, and management structure each year - There's work being done on improving diversity, equity, and inclusion, but bigger strides need to be made

I have been working at Collegewise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The amount of knowledge that's accessible through "The Hive" is what brings a level of unique professionalism. I am so glad I work at a place where shared knowledge is truly practiced throughout every department. If you truly want a balance of working independently while having the support of colleagues who are always willing to collaborate, this is the place for you!

    Cons

Collegewise attracts very high achievers, which is what makes it strong and forward thinking/futuristic, but also socially/professionally competitive. A sense of competition and hitting goals is a great environment for some, but it can feel a bit more pressure filled for others who are not necessarily driven by those factors.

I have been working at Collegewise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is truly a culture of support, constant learning, sharing of information. Surrounded by extremely bright people who are really really good at their jobs, and who make me much better at mine. Everyone wants to see one another succeed, because there is a true love for the job, purpose and client.

    Cons

I don't have any at this time

I worked at Collegewise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smart colleagues, flexible work schedule, supportive manager, well respected company in the field.

    Cons

APJECK (executiveTeam ) plays very clear favorites and is unlikely to identify their own areas for growth but quick to point out growth areas for others . Communication was so incredibly opaque and sporadic that I felt constantly paranoid for my job and about my performance.

I have been working at Collegewise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked a few different jobs in my career, and Collegewise is by far the best...a few reasons why: -- The management is understanding and gives you the freedom to do what you do best -- The support from management and peers is second to none -- Flexibility within your own schedule is amazing and perfect for any type of family lifestyle you have --Room to grow and the pay is competitive

    Cons

Collegewise is spread throughout the country so if you like being around your colleagues, it can sometimes feel lonely. Collegewise does their best though to keep everyone engaged.

I have been working at Collegewise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The talent in the organization is bar none. We have some of the most brilliant, caring, engaged employees of any organization I've ever worked for. Employees care about each other. There are generous time off policies.

    Cons

Leadership is so far removed from the day-to-day management of the business that they can't see all of the problems that counselors are experiencing. Collegewise used to have a very people-centered culture but it is now mainly focused on profit. The culture is also lacking. What was once a place that celebrated individuals has now become a good ol' boys club favoring individuals, particularly males. COO and CMO have also blocked advancement for many amazing people in the company, which explains why so many are leaving the organization.

I worked at Collegewise full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The company culture is very progressive. The CEO is very hands on, involved, and helpful. The ability to have a flexible, work from home position was great. Majority of my colleagues were extremely helpful.

    Cons

Training is lacking. My direct manager was very green in how to manage and was not the easiest to work for. When leaving the company, it was very unprofessional how it was handled.
