I have been working at Collin County Community College part-time

    Pros

Great working environment and administration is set up to help you succeed. Very flexible scheduling to work with almost any schedule.

    Cons

Hard to get enough classes to support yourself, will have to find additional income on the side. Wish I was able to teach more.

I have been working at Collin County Community College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great staff to help you in class rooms, Awesome high schools to teach dual credit at, Excellent classroom equipment, quality students, higher pay than other locations.

    Cons

Hard to be noticed for full time, impossible to get interviews for furthering career, No online classes at part time, you need to know upper management to further career or be someone else.

    Advice to Management

Need a pathway to full time and stop giving illusions of getting full time. Allow to teach more classes than 3. Trying to make a living at this job is equal to slavery.

I have been working at Collin County Community College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In general faculty and staff are very supportive and caring.

    Cons

Leadership at the highest levels is too focused on building clouds in the sky.
Far too many layers of administration.
    Budgets are a huge problem.

    Advice to Management

If you don't start to focus on building the organization instead of creating edifices the buildings just won't matter.
Stop returning money to the taxpayer and then allow yourself to be left short.
Education institutions aren't supposed to create a profit but instead simply to self-sustain.

    Pros

CCCC is a great place to work. There is strong leadership and great communication between team members. I always felt supported by my department chair and dean.

    Cons

The pay is average, as they could probably pay a bit more.

I have been working at Collin County Community College full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

State retirement, good number of days off as holidays.

    Cons

The current administration could not care less about employees. "Students first, no excuses" and employees be damned. Gee, if it were not for us, you'd have no students.

Collin also chooses the "heir apparent" for promotions so if you are not in the circle of trust, forget moving up. Sad really.

    Advice to Management

Realize that success is not student centric. Take care of your employees and we will take care of your customers.
