Abusive
Sep 18, 2020 - Adjunct Instructor in Colorado Springs, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you stay on the "good" list with the commandant, you get steady work.
Cons
Abusive, micro-management, no room for advancement, non academic atmosphere

Pros
Room for advancement Great teamwork Educational growth
Cons
Always having to work a weekend day

All the expectations without any of the means
Jul 29, 2015 - Student Success Coach in Schaumburg, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent vacation and benefits package Nice building with several amenities People are friendly Easy stepping stone into academic advising Large desks
Cons
Expected to help students, but university policies prevent any help to be given apart from telling students to contact instructors If a student has a crisis at home and is unable to attend classes, likely they will be charged for the full amount of the class and blamed that they didn't reach out sooner Coaches are expected to call certain at-risk students daily who are not attempting to attend school, taking away coaches' ability to reach out to the students who actually need assistance Even then, coaches have no means of helping students apart from listing ways they can withdraw and how they will be charged in doing so Company has been going down hill for a long time, with little room for advancement, and no raises Values say 'Students First,' but no capability of backing it up

Discounted Tuition Rate Ability to WFH Assisting Vets to Understand their GI Bill Benefits
Cons
Working at CTU, almost immediately you get the sense that there is very limited room for advancement. There is a lot of turn over in general. Not just the VA Office. The members of leadership were very unprofessional as nothing is confidential. Issues brought to HR were also not kept confidential and HR seemed to be making up rules as they went. Overall the culture is negative and at times toxic. Lastly, for the SCO position the pay is extremely low compared to the daily tasks and responsibilities. It certainly does not match the CO cost of living.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Relaxed environment ,Enjoy other co workers , co workers truly help each other out. Without the teamwork from other employees the place would fall apart. Employees hold the school together and upper management doesn't seem to recognize this.
Cons
Poor pay, no room for advancement, student complaints are never heard or addressed by academics department, poor communication across departments, university does not value or appreciate employees.

Pros
Having your own office, and the ability to close the door if privacy is needed. Close to various eateries for lunchtime. Work is not too demanding, and there is downtime, so you don't feel overwhelmed or stressed. OT is encouraged, but if do your 40, that's okay as well, depending on the dept.
Cons
It's like high school here filled with cliques, and it's all about popularity. You are expected to socialize with everyone, and if you are an introvert, that can be tricky. No room for advancement unless you started off here as a Work Study student. Strong favoritism. Pay can be better, and you pay an arm and a leg for insurance even with the nonsmoking and wellness discount. PDO is a combo of sick and vacation leave. I'm used to having 12 days sick and ten days vacation-22 days to start versus 18 here.

Talented workforce, decent pay and time off.
Cons
Poor leadership, no training, little room for advancement. Employees are left in the dark creating a culture of distrust and animosity. The organization is about shareholders not about quality programs and students. If you are an employee don't bother give notice, they let you go that day, regardless of your success with the company.
