I worked at Colton's Steakhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly employees
    Great pay
    Decent hours
Mangers worked great with my personal schedules (I was in high school, took phlebotomy classes & attended vision therapy weekly.)

    Cons

I honestly could not think of any. I begged and begged management to hire me every time I walked into that building, and was finally hired at 18 years old. I got very lucky with my first job. I definitely learned a whole lot.

I worked at Colton's Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very accommodating to your personal schedule. Great management and a great opportunity to move up in the business. Flexible hours and pay

    Cons

During slower seasons, the pay and amount of hours are cut short. Some of the employees receive special treatment while others do not

    Choose your days off
    Some pleasant coworkers
    Good food, at a cost

    Cons

    Low starting rate
Hard to move up into management
    Untrusting staff
Drama and quarrels in the work place
    Hard and repetitive work

    Advice to Management

Don't allow inner work place feuds

I worked at Colton's Steakhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is possible to make fast money. It really depends on the customers, but many people who go there are on a budget and do not tip well.
You get a decent discount on the food and can eat all the free rolls you'd like.

    Cons

-listen to country music all the time
-have to tip share with hostess/bus boys even if they suck
-did not pay me my last check despite asking multiple times

    Advice to Management

Don't overwork your employees. Pay more than $2.35 per hour

    Pros

The people you work with become you're family!

    Cons

Owner is such a jerk his turn over rate for the front and ESPECIALLY back of house(where he primarilly worked) was out the roof.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work inspiring your emplyee's!

I worked at Colton's Steakhouse (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff really got along very well and almost always came together as a team.

    Cons

Restaurant guests were notorious for leaving poor tips if they left anything at all. The management enforced a policy that required us to claim 10% of our total sales regardless if we made it or not.

    Advice to Management

It is really unfair to make the wait staff claim more tips than they made. I think the servers should get the choice to claim what they actually made.

    Pros

It was a flexible job for a high school student who needed extra cash for the side,i would recommend to others.

    Cons

Late hours for a high school student and the other staff could be inappropriate and rude. Manager was fine but not great.

    Advice to Management

Hire more dependable people who are actually going to cover their shift and not slack off. Just hire more people.

I worked at Colton's Steakhouse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great team. Servers and hosts are good and work together pretty well and get a long. Food is great.

    Cons

Upper management is horrible. Owners are money hungry leading to poor payouts to employees and management. No room for advancement since you have to pay in and buy share to even run a store as a managing partner. No raises, ever. They underlay their managers and kitchen members. No benefits what so ever. Works managers for less wages and more hours. Some work 50 to 70 hours. Servers cannot work more than 30 hours.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees. Offer respect. Treat your employees as you would a customer. Customers bring in your income, but If you treat your staff with disrespect, it will affect their treatment of the guests that bring in the money.
