Not the worst place to be working at

      Pros

-flexibility -get to work with intelligent people -the work can be rewarding and for a good cause -doctors are mostly great -good benefits

      Cons

-depending on the departments (but I would say most) there is no room for professional growth -a lot of red tape and bureaucracy -not much employee appreciation -they would rather hire someone new than to promote you -low to no substantial raises unless you threaten to leave (in which you just leave) -location is so far off in Manhattan

      Mixed feelings

      Pros

Stable job with good benefits and flexible time. Opportunity to work with incredibly talented and passionate physicians. Tuition discount allowed me to finish my masters for a relatively cheap cost.

      Cons

Administrative bureaucracy makes it near impossible to get anything meaningful done. HR presented misleading information; I was lured by the prospect of free tuition only to later find out that the tuition benefits had been drastically reduced just a year earlier. Dysfunctional workplace dynamics, and changing leadership, made it a difficult place to work at times. Near impossible to jump to a higher salary level unless you are VERY good at maneuvering the higher-ups.
