      Pros

CWRC has a friendly work environment. Social workers are respected and given a lot of professional opportunities.

      Cons

Little room for growth. At time of internship, CWRC was struggling financially so there was little opportunity for competitive salaries or advancement.

      Pros

      - The Columbia name is useful when searching for apartments in the area or future jobs. - Challenging environment so there is plenty of room for growth as a student.

      Cons

      - Administrative bureaucracy is often problematic in terms of getting paid, being insured, or getting lab materials ordered. (This extends to their on-campus housing.) - University administration does not necessarily listen to student needs. - Although there are many great scientists at the medical center, it is small and one must reach out to other universities for further expertise. - Graduate classes need to be improved. They are not that helpful for learning the scientific method, especially when there is a new lecturer every week with a different teaching/presentation style that needs adjusting to. - Most things are a struggle (re: challenging environment).
