I worked at Columbus Public Health as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone here is very passionate about public health. A lot gets done here. Team projects are essential. It is a very collaborative work place.

    Cons

Pay isn't great as it is a government entity rather than a corporate organization. Master's degrees are basically required.

    Pros

Nice city-Low crime compared to Atlanta. More males in work force so there is some humor at work. Work offsite

    Cons

Some ghetto areas are dangerous. Need to have a running car and auto insurance. Distant work environment.

I have been working at Columbus Public Health part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff at CPH is fantastic. I have been working here for a couple months. I have met people in nearly every department and haven't met someone I haven't liked.

    Cons

The pay isn't super great...but it's the government, so that's to be expected.

    Advice to Management

Great job - keep doing what you're doing!

I worked at Columbus Public Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Dedicated people that are working together to make a difference in the lives of the people of Columbus. Most people here are fantastic

    Cons

The pay isn't great, but to be expected at the city. There is some civil service deadweight. This is much less than I've seen at other local and state government agencies
