I have been working at Columbus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is growing and constantly changing.

    Cons

I worked at Columbus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of talk about how great things are. How great the management team is and how much that they care about their employees. It makes you feel good!

    Cons

The most incompetent management team that I've seen in my twenty five year (industry focused) sales experience. They are ruthless, in that they are looking to cover up their incompetence and believe that by firing 100% of the sales teams every 18 months that will prove that it was *someone else* that is screwing up. No, it's the management team.

Avoid this company. It will certainly ruin your career. Customers hate them because they lie and over bill for service hours.

P.S. Salespeople.......know that the management team H A T E S salespeople. I've heard them bad mouth every sales rep that they had. I tried to defend my reps but it was futile.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to deal with people.

    I worked at Columbus full-time

    Pros

I worked with an excellent team of co-workers who possess outstanding product knowledge. Vacation time is liberal compared to most US companies.

    Cons

The bonus structure (in the US) is complicated and confusing which includes a team percentage that hurts you more than it helps.

    Advice to Management

Don't just say that employees are your greatest asset, prove it by your actions. Fix the bonus plan so that it benefits both the employee and the company.

I have been working at Columbus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance with the ability to work from home. The company also pays for a majority of an employees certifications on Microsoft technologies. However, the financial reward for these additional certifications varies. As a member of Microsoft's "inner circle," Columbus has substantial credibility to leverage with current and potential customers.

    Cons

There is no formal training program. Instead there is a "learn by trial and error" structure in terms of development. Ultimately, there are no clear career paths and instead employees change titles, but keep the same essential responsibilities. Overall, Columbus is a very flat organization. What you are hired in as, is generally where you will remain.
