    Pros

Working internally for Combined in Chicago is absolutely the best job I've had. The Positive Mental Attitude pillar is upheld by every person I work with and meet almost every day. I think that attitude is fostered by the supportive, creative and innovative environment where we are all encouraged to learn every day. It doesn't hurt to have great benefits and transparent relationships with upper management either. This is truly a special place to work! I highly recommend Combined for people just starting out in finance, actuarial, or underwriting.

    Cons

    None at this time.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging employees to share their ideas and thoughts in meetings where they are the least experienced in the room. Keep making time to explain concepts in depth and in person to your staff because they will appreciate the time you take to help them develop their insurance acumen. Keep being flexible with scheduling, working from home, PTO days.

    Pros

Work hard and write good insurance and you will make money.

    Cons

Dishonest managers and executive. I had to drive a future employee to training., because she did not have car. I was in a room doing wonderlic with other potential hires and watch the executive give answers to that said recruit. Should have walked out.

    Advice to Management

Check your executives and managers bonus records from the past to expose a ton of fraud. If you don't the whole company is complicit in the unsavory behavior of its top people.

Combined is a great company to work for. The training is definitely one of the best in the industry, and you won't find a company that has a better culture and history.

    Cons

To be successful at Combined Insurance you have to be self-motivated and have the discipline to keep going...even though you will face a lot of rejection.

I have been working at Combined Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is the most incredible company I have ever worked for. As most know in sales jobs there is no ceiling for success, and that is the truth with Combined. I worked for another similar company and never had the support and encouragement I get. They pay the best and they reward with trips/incentives the best! I would suggest that if anyone is looking for a career that will change their life then this is it.

    Cons

Claims are not consistently being paid and take awhile to get resolved. Other than that I think every company will have their problems, no one place is perfect.
