    Pros

Take the free trip to Chicago for training if you want - met nice people. The training is worthless once you get back home where the managers will train you their way. Be warned, the person who interviewed you probably won't train you.

    Cons

Ask your potential trainer what they make per week - is it more or less than what you want? You probably won't make more than them. Learn the do not call laws and beware of managers who tell you to call those on the list.

    Harder than it looks.

    Jul 3, 2015 - E-Agent in Uniontown, OH

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Combined has a great history dating back to its founder. The training they provide gives you everything you need to start your career if you make an effort to learn what they are teaching you. I truly believed in the products they had and gave an honest effort I believe. People are very interested if you can get past the typical objections. Plenty of opportunity to get promoted if you sell the way they teach you.

    Cons

It is supplemental insurance for the most part, people really don't have to have it. You spend a lot of your own money on gas and the miles add up on your car. Combined gives you a few week cushion when you start off, but you will need another source of income to offset the tough weeks.

They provide great training and tools to help you be successful. The training program is laid out weekly and if followed the chance for success is excellent. The company provides support for those who want to work and be successful.

    Pros

Great training and continued training program. The continued training with vpt and adp programs are very good resources for agents who want to learn more

    Cons

No cons. Only people that are prone to be failures could fail at this opportunity. Those that fail will always have negative things to say because it could never be their "own" fault.

    I'm glad it's over

Jan 18, 2012 - District Manager in Bay City, MI
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Sales school was pretty beneficial and a lot of the training I received for management was very good. They have good incentives

    Cons

The products and high pressure sales tactics and management constantly pushing the numbers wore me out. I have a very strong work ethic and knew a ton of people is how I was successful but pay made it impossible for 95% of agents to even survive. I made as much as a District manager as I was told I'd make as an agent. I stayed as long as I did because I couldn't find a job somewhere else. Their customer satisfaction is low in my opinion. I dealt with customer complaints many times per day.

Newbie: I'm in training now in Chicago.

Aug 8, 2018 - Insurance Sales Agent in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

So far so good. I have just completed my 3rd day of training. So I'm writing this review from my hotel. I am very excited about this new opportunity. I have read some of the reviews on here some negative some positive but I am never going to allow my self to be discouraged by someone else's failure. I will say that this training is intense but I know its going to pay off and I look forward to doing another review in 3 months to update you on my success. The breakfast at the hotel is very good and the company pays for everything. They fly you in and pay for your lodging. They give you a prepaid credit card that you can use for food and things that you need. My trainer is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. My room is very clean . They shuttle you to and from training and the cafeteria food is pretty darn good. As far as income potential they really give you a positive out look.

    Cons

They throw a lot at you in a short time. You have to stay on your toes and memorize a lot of information but you know the old saying no pain no gain.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this positive review! We love hearing your perspective, as someone currently in training. Our talented trainers work hard to prepare our new agents for success in the field during the week-long training session in Chicago through formal classes, role playing and team building. We continue to offer support and continued development to our agents once they’re in the field. It sounds like you have a positive attitude, which should serve you well in this position. We wish you all the best in your future here, and we look forward to hearing about your success!

Company values are not what they say, Morals are down.

Mar 24, 2016 - Insurance Sales Agent in Tampa, FL

    Pros

Once you are in the field you are in your own after all the hype and excellent training. Company training is a great once you learn it and it take a lot of time, it takes a bit to follow but once you get it you are it.

    Cons

if you are not in the good side of your territorial manager he will let you slowly die, also to get to a territorial management all it takes its to be " good" and willing during those field trips and you will get up the ladder very quickly, leads are good but the company doesn't paid claims as promise.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company. We always appreciate hearing from our current employees. As you point out, our agents benefit from our excellent training school, which is aimed at preparing our agents for success. Once in the field, we supply our agents with ongoing support and training, and promotions to sales leadership are merit based. We have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and an A+ financial strength rating by A.M. Best. We have also been identified as a leading provider of supplemental insurance by the Ward Group, who has put us on their annual Ward’s 50 Top Life-Health Insurance Companies list for six years in a row. We take your feedback very seriously and will share it with the management team. If you have further comments, please email us at feedback@combined.com. We wish you all the best in your career here with us!
