I worked at Comcast (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely discounted cable, internet, and even home security services which can be over $200 in value depending on your needs. The base pay is very competitive and there is no cap on commission! The best part about starting at Comcast is that you get an extra dollar or two during training on top of your base wage to compensate for being in the training room and not having as much opportunity to collect commission. Great medical, dental, & tuition reimbursement benefits. The senior management is incredible about rewarding hard work and constantly has competitions for HUGE prizes like a PS4, kindles, & Firesticks.

    Cons

Working in the collections world it is a given that you will get the occasional disgruntled customer on your line so make sure to brush up on your deescalation skills

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    "Comcast Abuses Employees"

I worked at Comcast full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Was a great place to work. Now Comcast is trying to fix their poor reputation by forcing all front line employees to take the brunt of punishment by customer who are still frustrated and hate Comcast marketing and pricing plans. This place needs a union as management abuses employees. CWA 7704 represents this industry. Comcasters need to unite.

    Cons

Comcast collection Sandy and I also worked at the retail store. Employees are now powerless to defend themselves against abuse. Foul language, name calling etc. Customers have learned that this is the new policy and will "punish" the front line reps who do not make the decisions the customer is upset over. If you want to be called nasty names that can't even be listed here, join Comcast. And management will not support you. Supervisors refuse to take customer calls because they don't want the abuse either. 20% of employees are on some form of FMLA to avoid going to work. Most employees on the floor fear for their jobs on a daily basis. If you are coming up on 5 years to have 3 weeks vacation you won't make it. They will find some reason to terminate your employment. Comcast systems will have issues that cut into your commissions. If you bring it up your blackballed. But it takes away form your pay. Managers and supervisors are obviously on a different compensation program as their goals are in direct conflict to what gets you paid. Stay away from here. Ask what happened to all the veteran agents. We are all gone.

    Advice to Management

You have stopped caring about the individual, you abuse power, you make your employees live in fear. Employees need a union CWA 7704 represents employees of competitors. Google it, employees need to contact them.
