I worked at Comfort Systems USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A corporate team that cares way too much given a field organization that sees no value in the services that they provide.

    Cons

Where do I start, below average pay, benefits, 401k match, and opportunity for promotion. A leadership team that shows no regard for the average employee. A good ole boys network if ever there was one.

    Advice to Management

At least pretend that you care about employees that don’t make six figures. The IT department is a hotbed for harassment charges as little to nothing is ever even recognized by upper management. What a joke.

I have been working at Comfort Systems USA full-time

    Pros

Quiet easy going manager made a real effort to communicate

    Cons

Real lack of current systems concerning types, locations, maintenance. Had little to no knowledge of computer systems to be used in presentations or routine maintenance schedules. Became high irritated when ask about the company structure as to being private or public owned. Had no idea of company assets or gross profits. When he realized my previous salary exceed his by a factor of 4 that pretty much closed things off. We left on easy goodbyes. I wish the southeast division well.

    Advice to Management

Set a company wide mission understanding, Set of standards that act as baseline that will cross over all departments from sales, retro fitting, maintenance, and warranty issues. It would help to review employees understanding of this on a regular bases as they all have client exposure. Seems you're living on yesterday reputation with a few good old boys that just wing it from day to day. Remember, it only takes one uh oh to screw up a long list of ata boys. One true professional will almost always out perform a handful of wanna bees. OH yea! You get what you pay for in the long run. Just a simple observation. Looks like you're trying to expand to overall company, great. Get some new blood with solid backgrounds in the understanding of your product line before your competitors do.

I worked at Comfort Systems USA full-time

    Pros

They were an established company, easy to sell their services and Projects. Kip and Allen are easy to work with, getting that commission check cut was a fight at times.

    Cons

Some of Kips employees had no respect for women. Abuusive comments made. Sometimes they just wouldn't bid jobs so income was limited. When new management was coming in, their backwoods view of women was even worse. I was outright told that I would not be considered for management because I was a woman. I was the top sales person among the other males.

    Advice to Management

I don't ever have time to sue or complain to correct a culture, It's your job to know what's going on in your company and your job to fix it.
