    I have been working at CommScope full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Has excellent PR as being innovative and flexible. Some locations provide gyms with personal trainers.

    Cons

    In reality, took simple tasks and made them more complicated in order to stick to "the CommScope way" instead of being open minded to all available solutions. Policies reflect a conservative political environment. Locations are inconsistent with benefits offered to employees.

    Advice to Management

    HR hires many unqualified people based upon a familiar relationship or a piece of paper that indicates the person had knowledge business decades ago. At the same time, they lay off loyal employees when they stick around long enough to earn a higher salary.

    I worked at CommScope full-time

    Pros

    * High integrity company, tone set from top down and company does things the right way
    * Industry has outstanding growth potential
    * Good overall compensation
    * Positioned well in ecosystem

    Cons

    * Struggling to innovate and integrate. Old guard plus multiple acquisitions has left a fragmented culture
    * Despite a strong global footprint, operates as a USbusiness
    * Challenge communicating a single corporate strategy / vision

    Advice to Management

    Force change and bring in outside ideas to drive best practices. Improve communication surrounding the strategy (keep it simple). Remember to be a global company.

    I have been working at CommScope full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Their greatest strength is manufacturing Layer One infrastructure parts (cable, antenna, etc.) in volume

    Cons

    They grew by acquisition and remain a collection of independent business units having silos within silos; their desire to be virtically integrated keeps them partnering with other companies and fosters "Not Invented Here thinking;" employees usually remain in the same position they hired into unless moved involuntarily by reorganizations; lack of career development & promotion opportunities consistently score low on employee surveys

    Advice to Management

    The title of this review is a direct quote from a management trainer from headquarters. CommScope states Integrity, Innovation and Agility as its corporate values. The first is unquestioned. The second is iffy (most patents are for defense against knock-offs and their competitors often drive industry trends). As to the third, employees and managers are constantly frustrated with the inability to do simple things simply. This is not an agile company.

    Pros

    They are a great group of people to work with. Hard working and will go above and beyond to help each other.

    Cons

    The company suffers from a "silo" environment but is taking great strides to correct this issue.

    The the benefits package is not on par with a company of its size.

    Advice to Management

    Have better communication with your employees and try to help them balance their work and personal life.
