I have been working at CommScope (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Corporate-level behaviors are consistent with strongly reinforced core values of ethics and quality.
The C*O leaders have an excellent history of ethical and effective decisions, leading to an economically stable corporation.
Competitive bonus, salary and benefits for experienced engineering staff.
    Good work-life balance.

    Cons

Negative trajectory of cultural change - Executives' widespread choice of legacy TE BNS leaders over legacy CommScope leaders is leading to more political, command-and-control-style management and processes.

    Advice to Management

Seek feedback from employees. Correct acquisition-related engineering leadership and process issues as soon as possible before more good employees leave.

    Pros

Excellent 401k match. Grown to a big company over the years with many resources to refer to. Strong direction with big results. Freedom to pursue new ideas. Very supportive of invention.

    Cons

At times, can shift the work-life balance. Can be promptly reactionary to the market. Overall, not many cons to consider.

    Advice to Management

Don't be too volatile in reacting to the market when jobs can be affected. Continge to be supportive of invention and IP filings.

    Pros

Interesting technology and work. I always had something interesting to work on and I learned a lot in the process.

    Cons

Too many layoffs, I worked there for two years and witnessed 3 rounds of layoffs. This reduced company morale and made more work for the people still around.

    Pros

Good people to work with. mid Level Management good to work with.

    Cons

Top Management has increasingly become more driven as the years have gone by. Salaried employees increase their hours toward 10-12 being the normal daily and annual bonuses have decreased close to nothing.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I worked at CommScope full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of going on in DAS & Small Cells especially after acquisition of TE Connectivity & BNS. IF you fall in the management's favoritism, you will be one lucky engineer to learn & work on each and everything, otherwise nothing much, you end up being pure labor/puppet..

    Cons

    # of Work Hours, Politics, Wages, Favoritism, Career Growth altogether suck - Engineering Team is like a puppet of Project Management Team and have no value. No training programs but learn as you hit the road. Engineers work plenty of extra hours but never get appreciated. Past CommScope engineering guys felt they were used and thrown even being loyal to the company due to immediate management politics at the time of re-org when CommScope acquired TE Connectivity BNS Unit. Performance review can be easily manipulated by managers to control the visibility & to provide justifications to their higher management when needed. Additionally, dictatorship of engineering management would easily put someone not deserving on top of the folks who are so deserving. Micro-management with not much management skills in newly org-ed team based in Richardson, TX. In fact, less sound technical management would use so sound technical engineers skills to gain visibility and still give donuts to the qualified engineers working for them. Please beware, this company is extremely bad choice to work for if you are a team player, looking for financial as well as professional growth. Only way you can learn in this engineering team is by playing politics because manager/director will never support any career growth plans.

    Advice to Management

Stop using Engineers as labors.., Provide technical growth to all your team rather than supporting favoritism.., Have training programs for every year.., Use politics in good way for team's growth rather than using it purely for your personal gain..

I worked at CommScope full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company has shown me that there are companies who treat their employees much better. At least it paid my bills, but other than that there aren't any pros anymore.

    Cons

The IT CIO has made decisions and hired managers that have made things unbearable at this company. Pay is lower at this company for positions within the IT field. They treat their good employees like garbage and reward the bad employees, which are like a cancer in the company and are multiplying.

    Advice to Management

Maybe treat your employees better and pay them what they should be making before you lose everyone talented at the company.

I worked at CommScope full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The employees were great
Good benefits and personal time off
    Good vacation accrual
    Good training available
Great culture of inclusion within work groups

    Cons

Upper management seemed to lack direction.
Upon shutting down our location many missteps occurred. People let go without plans to have their work covered and customers taken care of.

    Advice to Management

Better planing for the long term. Take a ice from those that know the job
