    Pros

To learn and develop new technologies and products. Expanding your presence and in the industry.

    Cons

For all the talk of caring about the employee, when they layoff to reduce staff, they tend to remove the people with the longest tenure to replace them with new lower salary employees. They do not look for alternate positions within the company so released employees need to start at the end of the line with new applicants.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to refer employees to new positions internally rather than dismissing them without cause.

    Pros

They are a great group of people to work with. Hard working and will go above and beyond to help each other.

    Cons

The company suffers from a "silo" environment but is taking great strides to correct this issue.

The the benefits package is not on par with a company of its size.

    Advice to Management

Have better communication with your employees and try to help them balance their work and personal life.

Help your employees further their professional career.

"Acquisition is causing huge pans; outdated culture will make it hard to attract good candidates"

    I worked at CommScope full-time

    Pros

They pay and benefits are great, but will not make up for the complete lack of work life balance

    Cons

Management cares only about making money. They have no interest in investing or training their employees. Command and control tactics make employees constantly in fear. Unclear directives means no one knows what they are doing. Because of management's lack of ability and planning I was forced to work nearly every weekend and definitely every holiday while I was there. Just because you pay your employees a lot doesn't mean you own them.

    Advice to Management

If you want to attract the best talent, be flexible. Give people work from home opportunities. Let your employees have an actual life outside of work. They are already seeing a mass exodus of the best employees. If CommScope does not learn to value its employees and give them the training they need they are only going to see this problem became worse in the future. Excusing things by saying it's an acquisition year and not typical does not do anything to boost employee morale. Once you leave this company you realize that although you might take a pay cut there are other employers that treat their employees much better. If CommScope does not start to emulate these companies their goals of attracting new, young, and good talent will not be achieved. In sum, the pay and benefits do not make up for a highly toxic culture that will drain you and in some cases, make you physically ill. CommScope may be one of the biggest in the industry, but its culture may cause it to quickly lose its standing and reputation as the best leave for companies that actually support their employees.

    Pros

A company that really cares about their employees, offers good health coverage, good benefits, running short programs to help employees with health issues like weight loss, exercise etc.

    Cons

Its a big company and the bureaucracy and the need to all (40000+ employees) to conform to one standard is sometimes too much

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the performance/goals 3rd party software (something like DirectConnect).
