I have been working at Commerce Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, no micro-managing, provide the right tools and environment to get the job done

    Cons

Very political, was put in many situations where my job was to deal with political BS instead of managing the project

    Advice to Management

Protect individuals from being put in the middle of impossible situations to manage because company politics was more important to leadership than the status of the project

I worked at Commerce Bank part-time

    Pros

I enjoyed where I trained. Loved the actual location of my place of employment, I lived within walking distance. Hours were nice. I was able to go to school also.

    Cons

Hated where I was transferred to actually work. The staff was very katty and spoke bad about the clients behind their backs. They were rude to me.

    Pros

Flexible work arrangements (depends on manager)
    Work/Life Balance

    Cons

Things can get really slow. IT at a bank involves lots of red tape.
Lots of change-over in middle management so you don't know what you'll get from month to month.

    Pros

Great benefits. People are generally nice.

    Cons

Work experience prior to Commerce is not valued by the old guard. Many leaders were hired young and only know the Commerce way. Change is slow and carefully measured for risk.

    Advice to Management

Break up the cliques and insider network.

Offer lots of training to improve your skills.

    Cons
