I worked at Commonwealth Capital Corp. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are the greatest and care about other employees.

    Cons

FINRA is tearing the place apart, causing everybody to either leave or be asked to go. The only people left are family members and people there to facilitate the regulators.

    Advice to Management

Hire people outside the family and give them real authority to do their job.

    Pros

Friendly people who work hard in an impossible situation

    Cons

CEO is egotist who thinks only she can make decisions. Delegates nothing, but blames others for her mistakes. Just laid off 7 people, except her brother who never comes to the office except to complain about having to move some boxes around (but gets paid), drug addict daughter hasn't been to work entire time I was there, but gets paid. Managers leaving, CEO doesn't care. Major regulatory problems that CEO blames on everyone but herself. Majority of workers are in 1 department headed by a idiot incompetent manager who kisses the CEO's butt, so she likes him. Horrible pay, no standards for pay unless the CEO likes you so people who do little get high salaries. Benefits are minimum and very expensive. Company will probably be in bankruptcy by year-end. Stay far away from this place.

    Advice to Management

Have CEO step down and bring in someone who can save people's jobs and investors money.

I worked at Commonwealth Capital Corp. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employees are friendly and care for each other. I still keep in touch with some of the employees "on the inside"

    Cons

    Nepotism is king; Managers are not allowed to manage. Employees are discouraged from talking to former employees;

    Advice to Management

Let managers do their job and stop micro-managing; too many good employees have left disappointed that they were never allowed to work to their potential. Stop hiring family members. Appreciate your employees in order to stop the exodus. Stop lying to your employees; you will be surprised how many will stay if they are only given the chance to hear the truth.

I worked at Commonwealth Capital Corp. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, nice people, good location.

    Cons

Not allowed to do certain tasks, not enough work to do.

    Advice to Management

Give more responsibility to certain members of staff. Don't look at the negative, look at the positive. Don't hire friends or family doesn't always work. Make sure the leaders know their job and how to do it. Training is essential in all jobs.

    Pros

The people are generally friendly and easy to work with.

    Cons

If you ever change job titles or positions within the company, don't expect a raise no matter how much extra work and responsibility you accept. Nepotism and company politics galore.

    Advice to Management

    Stop hiring your family.

I have been working at Commonwealth Capital Corp. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very challenging and demanding work environment, which helps keep employees sharp where they got to be.

    Cons

The challenging and demanding work environment came from deep cuts in staff members and from not replacing those who have left because they either could not keep up with the pace or they felt unappreciated. This is not a sustainable long term plan. The loss of some talent has negatively impacted the bottom line, increased errors, and delayed necesssary progress.

    Advice to Management

Not all employees are expandable. Need a retention program.

    Pros

The employees have a true love for the company itself and what it represented when the founder was alive. Most employees get along really well.

    Cons

Top management has got to go. The investors should take over and gut the company from CEO all the way to Senior managers; the CEO does not care about the little people, all she cares about is preserving HER capital. She does not promote hard working people.

    Advice to Management

CEO needs to step down and let real people handle the company; I sill don't get why the SEC has not taken over

I worked at Commonwealth Capital Corp. full-time

    Pros

The staff are talented people who are great to work with. The work environment is very friendly. Almost everyone knows how to do their job well.

    Cons

Senior management exhibits too much micromanagement and nepotism. They have allowed really good people to leave because they refuse to pay them what they are worth in the market. The nepotism has to stop.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people, empower your people and pay your people market wages.
