    Pros

Great company to work for. They let you learn at your own pace. No one is breathing down your neck. They allow you to fail and learn from your mistakes without any time of punishment.

    Cons

There really aren't any cons. I am just not passionate about this position personally.

I worked at Commonwealth Hotels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best reasons to work here are the benefits. Employee discounts, employee lunches, those are great. And the "peons" so to speak, are the best. The housekeepers, guest service agents, breakfast attendants. Those people are what make it the best.

    Cons

The management, direct management, are completely idiots. Efficient coverage during busy times at the desk is non existent, they promote people with little or no experience with their minds out in la-la land, with no practical applicable experience, with out of control expectations-but don't seem to care. Their attitude toward guests is give them what they want, but then come up with unreasonable policies to apply towards the guests, when they tell you to give them what they want. The whole thing is a contradictive mess.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. Stop promoting people, just to promote them. Find the correct person to do the job, not just some Joe Schmoe off the street, or promote someone to sales management position that was a housekeeper yesterday.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your team. Encourage feedback through the surveys that you do 2 times a year. Keep planning team events for everyone to enjoy.

I have been working at Commonwealth Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My managers are friendly, competent, and ethical in their dealings. I think they're proactive with their communication, and that we enjoy some schedule flexibility, and a great benefits package. There is a communal sense of purpose and mission.

    Cons

Base pay is not particularly competitive relative to the living costs of the metro area. Scheduling is only done briefly in advance, and management could communicate slower periods with less than full hours more in advance.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good leadership, but be more proactive with employees about cycles and trends of occupancy and staffing needs.
