I worked at Commonwealth of Massachusetts full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I loved working for the Commonwealth. Each day provided a new challenge. I was able to attend a number of briefings to expand my own knowledge.

    Cons

I do not have many cons. It was a wonderful place to work. Since it is the state, the building are not always as updated. I worked in a space with carpets that were 60 years old. It took a toll on the allergies.

    Advice to Management

It all depends on your boss, each office runs differently. I had a great boss and work environment. I could pursue my own interest independently and check in with the boss when necessary.

I worked at Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great networking opportunities, very social position, people always available to help. Easy to work remotely, learn-as-you-go culture. Great for entry level or first jobs post-graduation

    Cons

Low, non-negotiable salary. Not much room to move up. Difficult for people who aren't social or aren't willing to use connections. Dealing with constituents can be difficult, can be hard to track down legislative liaisons.
