I have been working at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Experience.
Learning at a place that teaches values. The twelve hour shifts are really nice even if only working three days a week.

    Cons

    Understaffed and overworked.
Residents don’t have respect for other residents needs.
Over forty residents at a time to take care off.

    Advice to Management

    More staff and support.

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Loved my co-workers and patients.

    Cons

Owners and management only cares about the money. They didn’t care for the patients at all. They deliberately short staffed to the detriment of the patients. At times unable to even see all my patients because not enough time. They also treated staff like they didn’t matter at all. Flat out lied about pay and benefits. If they messed up on your pay, took them months to correct it, if they even would. It was a nightmare. Hours cut constantly. Could go on and on with the cons.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like human beings. Care about the patients. Health care shouldn’t be all about the money. Don’t hide your employees equipment they need to do their jobs. Stop creating such a hostile environment to work in.

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay, job was fun, clients were cool, coworkers were good people. I liked working with the families and the place itself was very nice.

    Cons

The administrator was far from professional and was engaged in activities that really broke ethics. The pay could have been a little better and there was no recognition from management for the efforts I went to to get their Social Services department back into compliance.

    Advice to Management

They got rid of that administrator, unfortunately not before he got rid of me

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many full time employees got weekends and holidays off.

    Cons

Dietary departments were outsourced to a separate company which resulted in a larger number of layoffs and decreased the overall quality of the meal services in the facility.

Pay was also well below average for the area.

I have been working at Communicare Health Services full-time

    Pros

Corporate management, very friendly and quarterly training for each department. Each facility has its own dynamic and some are better than others but corporate structure in place to regulate how the business works.

    Cons

Very hard to bonus, and the care at some facilities can hinder your ability to do your job well. Getting a strong Ex. Director and DON is crucial.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the Nursing and business side can work well together, business relies on reputation of facility and can be tough to always be in damage control.
