    Pros

    Great benefits with union representation

    Cons

One of the lowest paid nursing facilities

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many full time employees got weekends and holidays off.

    Cons

Dietary departments were outsourced to a separate company which resulted in a larger number of layoffs and decreased the overall quality of the meal services in the facility.

Pay was also well below average for the area.

I have been working at Communicare Health Services full-time

    Pros

Corporate management, very friendly and quarterly training for each department. Each facility has its own dynamic and some are better than others but corporate structure in place to regulate how the business works.

    Cons

Very hard to bonus, and the care at some facilities can hinder your ability to do your job well. Getting a strong Ex. Director and DON is crucial.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the Nursing and business side can work well together, business relies on reputation of facility and can be tough to always be in damage control.

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Floor staff is dedicated, provide awesome care to patients, trustworthy, dependable and long suffering.
Floor staff desires to follow leadership and do well.

    Cons

Management appreciates nothing. Only continue to pile on more work and change processes constantly, then are angry when deadlines are not met. Impossible to keep from drowning or burning out. Management vs Floor staff mentality.

    Advice to Management

Look at management at the faculty level. If turn over is high, look at DON for reason.... Regional teams are out of touch with reality at facility level. Huge disconnect between each level...

I worked at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It was close to home.

    Cons

They are rude and don't value their employees. They don't pay you enough and they expect so much from you. They are disloyal and I would never tell anyone to work there. They treat their employee horrible and they talk about them. Everyone is replaceable. There is no work life balance. It was a very stressful job and no training. They call you on vacation and they never thank you for your service.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees

    Pros

Pay sucks, insurance REALLY SUCKS, Expectations are funny because its unrealistic. Some people are helpful but they are pulled in 20 different ways they don't have time to focus on their job duties
"True Blue" Code is a joke......Change actually starts at the top (owners) and then work your way down, not.in the middle.

    Cons

Hell in a hand basket, always running in circles to clean up the staffs mess, when its basic 101 nursing. Anywhere else they would be fired on the spot.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to recognize the employees that do a good job, fire the ones that don't want to be there and are incompetent. Have real exceptions for your facilities specially your always under staff, staff is pulled so thin that burn out is going to happen or you will lose the staff that can actually benefit your company.

    Pros

That i don't work there to witness the unbelievable borderline illegal behaviors of the facilities it's all about the $$$ the patients are just a formality

    Cons

There are too many to type. I pray for the patients

    Advice to Management

    Respect your dedicated staff!

I have been working at Communicare Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few coworkers and some of the residents make this place bearable

    Cons

Management relies on gossip to make their decision and will overlook everything you do wrong if you laugh at their dumb jokes and kiss up to them.

    Advice to Management

There is so much more to life than just money, treat all your employees the same. Do not just talk about your core values in daily emails, make sure they are being followed. Even if you do not agree with your employees opinions listen to them and appreciate that they are willing to share their thoughts with you, because when people stop talking they usually stop caring and it is only a paycheck they want. I know as long as there are people who can't fight for themselves that feel hopeless and trapped you will always have employees, residents and a successful business, that just life.
