    Positive Outlook

    Pros

The ability to work with others by sharing my experience, strength, and hope. Colleagues are friendly and everyone is willing to help each other. The flexible scheduling so I was able to attend school. The opportunities for advancement. The genuine compensation for the clients

    Cons

I enjoy working for this agency so I don't have anything negative to say about this company

    Advice to Management

The agency needs to offer training programs and offer benefits

    Pros

    - great coworkers
    - work with a variety of people
    - union job
    - training opportunities
    - good experience (looks good on resume)

    Cons

    - pay is terrible
    - time off is unrealistic (earn around 3 hours each pay period)
    - not very many advancement opportunities
    - there is a lack of communication between departments

    Advice to Management

I would recommend greater communiction between departments, also make the pay the competative. Many good people leave because the pay is so low and inflexible.

I have been working at Community Care Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fellow employees are dedicated to providing hope and building recovery for CMH population they serve.

    Cons

Time off is banked into one PTO, no sick time. So, if you are sick you don't get a vacation. Not enough time paid time off for the difficult work in this field at this employer.

    Advice to Management

Provide sick days in addition to PTO or additional PTO days. Need better communication between Administration and other staff.

I worked at Community Care Services full-time

    Pros

Supportive staff, supervisors are helpful and generally a comfortable atmosphere.

    Cons

The Medicaid clients are able to miss appointments time and again without any consequences, but if you miss your direct service quota by even a fraction of a percent you are written up, and after 3 times you are escorted out.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Community Care Services full-time

    Pros

Two locations in the Downriver area, both easily accessible by I 75 and Southfield freeway. A good company to start with but most employees with longevity beyond 5 years of service are in Administration. This company is a good stepping stone to further your career in the human service field for social work case management and therapy.

    Cons

You may want to look into other agencies and their pay scales as this company is not very competitive with their salaries or paid time off. Weekly compensation is for 37.5 hours a week or 75 hours a pay period, but you actually work at least 40 hours a week to complete documentation and meet productivity standards.

    Advice to Management

    Employees matter

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Working with individuals that have challenges with mental illness and substance use.

    Cons

Very low pay. If your trying to grow and increase your salary this is not the place to work. There was "NO" African American" in management. No personal or professional growth. Underline bulling attitude with some management.

    Advice to Management

Treat all your employees with the dignity and respect that you would hope for in return.
