    Pros

Health Benefits is the only Pro to working for this company.

    Cons

Low pay. Little to no raises. Little to no bonuses. Unorganized. Poorly managed.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who know what they are doing. A degree doesnt mean experience.

I worked at Community Health Systems full-time

    Pros

Working in health care and the day to day reward of serving others

    Cons

A corporate-heavy, controlling environment where corporate pressures regional hospitals for higher and higher profits; utilizing tactics such as reduced-hour work weeks (with no reduction in actual work) - i.e. essentially pay cuts - while corporate execs take home million dollar bonuses.

    Advice to Management

For profit health care is proving to be a failing model.

    Cons

Dont train people properly and management cant answer questions that they should know. The pay does not match the work.

I have been working at Community Health Systems full-time

    Pros

There are truly no pros to working for this company. The leadership is poor and if you do not make the buddy system (you are not get promoted)

    Cons

I think I have stated enough...

    Advice to Management

Hire middle middle management and VP's with more integrity and leadership ability to develop talent and promote note worth talent.

I worked at Community Health Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the physicians and nurses are good people and are trying to make a difference taking care of patients as best they can in a stripped-down environment.

    Cons

Pay is lower than state, regional, and national medians. Non-physician corporate structure dictates ALL decisions. Hospital systems acquired by CHS are all poorly operated. The corporation is in serious financial trouble and probably won’t last much longer.

    Pros

New building , Good co-workers, Flexible arrival time, OT pretty much available if you want it

    Cons

Leadership is always bickering and micro managing. I've been asked by managers to lie to directors so managers don't look bad for not following directors instructions. People here really do try to make you feel like your less important just because you have not chosen to go into management. Leadership does not have an open door policy. The definitely keep their doors closed the majority of the day.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Walk the talk and stay in your lane so everyone can do the job they are hired to do. Why have all these positions if you don't trust the decisions and actions of your team members?

I have been working at Community Health Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Free Parking
Air Conditioning in summer and Heat in winter
Free ice for the soda you buy
First Aid Kit if you get hurt
    Restrooms to use

    Cons

Management has their favorites that they treat differently than the rest of the department staff that is not one of their favorites.

There are multiple managers and if you are not one of them, you can forget about being asked for your opinion or your side of an issue. It would benefit someone from the corporate office to come on board as a regular employee if they really want to get to the bottom of the way

There are so many different processes that are always being changed because they are not thought out or discussed with us before they are put into place when we are the ones doing the work.

Managers and Directors will not admit someone else may know more than they do or have a better way of doing something that is more effective.

I have never heard them admit they didn't know something or admit they were wrong about something.

You are treated according to your title and pay grade if you are below the manager level; that is if they like you. If they don't like you as much as another person, you are treated like you have the plague.

This department is very micromanaged and toxic.

Billers talk to one another and all 3 teams have 3 different policies and rules that they follow.

There is very high turnover here and only the team members that are the favorites get a good cubicle and the least favorites are known to the whole department by the way they are spoken to.

In this department, it is best to keep your head down and your earbuds in so you are not singled out for something you didn't do because mistakes are not allowed.

There is no confidence in the training because those that are training are untrained.

    Advice to Management

I should leave this blank since I know management does not take advice in this department but I will give this a try -
Read the CHS Mission and try to follow it.
Treat your employees like equals that don't need to be talked down to or belittled.
Work with integrity every day so your employees know that they will be treated professionally and fair.
The pay is not good but you can make some of that up if you learn to treat everyone like humans.
