    Pros

Worked for 10 years. Loved working with patients. I was a PCT and a unit clerk.

    Cons

Too much work load for so little pay. Supervisors and management expect too much out of you and they do not appreciate all what you do!

    Advice to Management

Management really needs to work on the floor with their employees so they can really see how much patient care techs have of an overload. 20 patients to an aide?? REALLY??

I have been working at Community Health Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, friendly operations personnel.

    Cons

Low pay, scattered expectations from a variety of management people, poor or no follow-thru on issues important to non-management employees, "C" suite employees seldom connect with the workforce even at lunch and hospital celebrations (birthdays, holidays, retirement gatherings and such). Workforce seldom feel "secure" in the jobs. HIGH turnover during those "trouble" times which happen often.

    Advice to Management

Quit or get fired...I think the entire C crew should go....

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Upper management is constantly changing, hostile environment, you don't know if you have a job from one day to the next and the don't value the good people and keep the bad ones

    Advice to Management

Get it together and learn how to tell the difference between the good workers and the rotten ones and show pride in the good ones and make it known to them too.

    Pros

Work at one of their small hospitals. Coworkers are great. Work environment is enjoyable. Their health benefits package is pretty decent.

    Cons

This position does not lead to a lot of hands on experience with servers and system administration. All of that was controlled by the corporate office, which understandibly they wanted to regulate. Money for much needed IT equipment always tight, had to work with outdated and broken equipment.

    Advice to Management

The focus for the company is their healthcare, which I understand. Nursing staff is highly rewarded with bonuses for extra time worked, sign on, etc. Meanwhile, support staff is nickled and dimed with small raises. I understand the nursing perks are market driven and there is a shortage on nursing, but its depressing to work hard and not be recognized.
