Pros
Lots of resources to get the jo bdone, and not much pressure on deadlines. For the hours worked, the pay is very generous when account is taken of all the benefits. It is a cushy life.
Cons
There is an IN crowd and an OUT crowd. If your face fits, you can do anything (or nothing. Bullying, backstabbing, politicking, are all daily occurrence behind the smiles and "family values". It is the most dishonest place I ever worked, yet there is a sense of entitlement from top to bottom and pride in working there. The bullying and ostracising is at a different level. People get rewarded for keeping their mouth shut and hounded out with lies if they speak out.
Advice to Management
Well done on getting rid of the bully who was Registrar. Now get rid of the other bullies in other positions like and stop the backstabbing.

Great working environment , people and opportunities.
Cons
Good salary and pension, annual leave, flexi hours, bonuses. Family friendly, look after their staff.

secure lifelong positions. tight community...if you fit in. There are many pros if they like you
Cons
Lack of empathy towards people with mental illnesses. The place is full of bullies and life wreckers. If your face fits you're laughing.
Advice to Management
Address mental illness awareness and act appropriately and realise that not one person is the same. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Crack down on those bullies. I'm still seaking councilling.

Good family friendly policies
Very forward thinking compared to many government departments. Leading the way on the civil service front and digitalisation
Approachable chief executive who regularly interacts with staff. Used to love his blogs on the farm.
They encourage all individuals to have a voice.
Cons
Box marking PDRs as with all civil service means 20/25% are poor performers. Very unfair and hard to prove you are exceptional. Pay freezes and few chances of progression
Advice to Management
Good management structure but has a tendency to promote the corporate type with no soft skills or the ability to diffuse conflict. Many excellent individuals with excellent soft skills overlooked.
Pros
Lots of friends and a friendly atmosphere, very trusting and caring about staff. Lots of good benefits like the car park gym cwtch canteen flexi etc, though the pay is not good. Everyone cares about Companies House and is loyal to it. Most people work hard and help each other out.
Cons
Pay has been kept down for years and the government have just kept it down again for the next 4 years, so salaries are less each year. The management in customers delivery directorate are not good, dont listen and blame us if there are backlogs.
Advice to Management
Listen more and think ahead like the BSD mangement.
Pros
Flexi time to fit work around family life
30 days holiday per year + "privilege days" and bank holidays
Reasonably good average salary pension
Opportunities for overtime and on-call to top up salaries

Cons
Lower pay - central government caps on pay rises and setting pay freezes means this wont change soon.
Some colleagues clearly do not pull their weight and have been put into jobs they cannot perform, yet due to union intervention they cannot easily be ejected.
Advice to Management
Continue to find ways to reward the staff that are performing, and find ways to remove the workers that do not perform.
Pros
Excellent work/life balance. Excellent rates of pay. Excellent employee benefits including flexible working hours, government pension. Excellent onsite facilities including staff restaurant, onsite gym and free onsite multi story car park.
Cons
There is some weak management in places. The food in the staff restaurant is not always of a particularly high standard.
Advice to Management
Communicate better in some places. Invest more in management training and e-learning. Manage projects better and communicate the details of the projects and updates to staff.
