    Pros

People. We always got things done in SDF better and faster than the other bases. Too bad they are moving it to SJC where they will not get the same.

    Cons

Regional airline pay not the best but it is what it is.

    Advice to Management

    Don't shut down SDF

I have been working at Compass Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great crew members to fly with- their are more cons than pros for this company.
Pay start looks great on paper, but one can't live on it. Company culture leaves little to be desired. Many crew members love what they do, but can't see working here too long because of pay and benefits-

    Cons

The company's bottom line is saving $. Negative atmosphere, no atta-boys or you did a great job. People rarely stay on for more than 2 years.

    Advice to Management

Pointless to give advice. This company insults there crew members by not having working websites for crew scheduling, mechanical problems and delays are a constant with our equipment. Communication resource management is expected with crew members- mon existent with management (except to put fear in her/him).

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Compass Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Turnover is at an alarming rate. Compass is merely a stepping stone and not a permanent place for a career unless you have little ambition and stay complacent.

    Cons

-No infrastructure is setup for success
    -Minimal training
    -No appreciation or employee recognition
    -Negative outlook
    -Always playing catch up
-Employees at corporate level always looking to pawn their work on someone else
-Management does not make critical decisions.
    - Contractors are paid higher than regular employees
-Pay is low for experience and knowledge most employees have

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a culture change and less finger pointing. If an employee does not perform don't keep them because you are afraid of firing people. Invest in infrastructure and IT department as well as experienced people.

The in-flight management for LA has her head somewhere other than her shoulders! Can we say "powertrip" any louder? The job doesn't pay me enough

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse and don't treat people like they are beneath you on every level

I have been working at Compass Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a 75 hour per month guarantee. Therefore even if you work half of those hours you get paid the full 75 hours. If one works more than 75 hours one will get paid every hour beyond 75. The guarantee pay is split between the first check of the month and the second check. You will always get paid something. The per diem is $1.55 and will be added to one of the checks. Sometimes it is surprising how much per diem can add on to your check. A couple times a year the company gives everyone an extra $300.00 or so as a "keep up your hard work" reward.

    Cons

If you do not go beyond the 75h a month it is hard to live off the guarantee. It is hard to go beyond the 75h mark when one is on reserve.
