I worked at Compass Group Canada full-time

    Pros

They are always recruiting, always in need of workers

    Cons

You need to know someone in upper management to get recognized for any hard work, promoted etc. Low wages, lots of work - the harder you work, the more they will throw at you, with little to no training and will expect you to land on your feet, quickly.

    Advice to Management

Reorganize, restructure - hire people into management positions that actually know how to organize teams and manage effectively - pay the right people, to do the right jobs. Invest in revamping training programs, sending the right people to these training programs. Stop taking advantage of hard working/long term loyal employees.

I have been working at Compass Group Canada part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really fun environment and there is always something to do as it gets quite busy. Once you work there for a while, the hours can be great especially for students. Extremely flexible for high school students as (a selected few) they would only work weekends during the school year and the part or full time during the summer. There are so many different units to work at so if you're lucky you'll be trained at several spots!

    Cons

Getting promoted to a supervisory position from a general food services worker takes a very long time and the pay for the amount of work we do is quite low compared to other companies (catering, supervision of several units etc.)

    Pros

Many positions available in many parts of the company. You can work in one location and transfer to another if you move or would like to try something different.

    Cons

Minimal pay with high expectations and no training. If you need help with citizenship they give you the runaround and don't provide the needed paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Provide training immediately upon hiring and be more supportive of your employees needs.
