    Pros

Good pay dosen't provide people permission to treat their workers as sub-human.

    Cons

No bonuses, no initiatives, no morale, absolutely horrible upper management, understaffed and overworked workers.

    Advice to Management

Upper management treats hourly employees like lesser people. Learn how to lead and motivate people.

Middle and Upper Management are the problem

    Advice to Management

Be honest and open like yall say you are, listen to the people who know how to do the job and have way more experience than supervisors and management doing those jobs

    Pros

Goderich is a nice place to live and work ,pay is good and for the most part have really enjoyed working here until the past few years.

    Cons

Company is being micro managed by a leadership group who won't take responsibility for their poor planning and choice's that took this company from being highly productive to barely getting by on a daily basis. They treat their staff terribly and are currently using scab labour to run a mine with untrained people and risking lives instead of working on a contract with their unionized workforce for whom the have put... out on strike with unrealistic contract demands.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to be a leader and correct this mess instead of heading down the same path as the previous CEO who got fired for the exact same things you are doing now. Learn from your past and stop getting sued all the time for abusing your employees.

I have been working at Compass Minerals full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Its a job. The hourly employees are the best thing there. Most easy to get along with. Some lower management it understanding.

    Cons

Most of the management that understands and trys to help or be nice are usually run off or dont stay long. Upper management is heartless doesnt care about you or your family. We have made record years and in turn the company turns around and trys to put everyone at the road and bring in young superstars. These superstars are having trouble meeting the goals set forth by the company that have been lowered so much it... should be embarrassing. Safety is low because of all the green hands not knowing of hazards.

    Advice to Management

Experence is production, proformance and safety come from! Mining is not like flipping burgers it takes time to learn how to be productive. Listen to the hourly people. Not employees from failed companies.
