Compassion continues to excel with the Gallup engagement survey and program. Compassion is focused on staff care and development, providing many opportunities for internal advancement

    Cons

Was hired for as a full time temparary employee. Wish I would of known 40 hour weeks were not actually guarteed for the 6 month assignment. Im a single mom and was sent home numerous weeks with only 30-32 hours.

    Advice to Management

More upfront details with hours for temporary assignments.

I worked at Compassion International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The community was wonderful, the organization had a strong mission, and they really sold that mission to the employees. It felt like, even in my temporary position, I was contributing to the greater mission, and I was meant to be there at that time.

    Cons

It is difficult to get a job there as their positions are in such high demand, and they want highly qualified individuals filling those positions. It's great, just difficult.

I have been working at Compassion International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Everyone works toward the same goal, which is releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
Compassion does what it says it will do. Children are receiving valuable benefits due to their participation in the program. Many lives are being changed in a positive way.
Great Christian culture. Frequent chapels, opportunities to pray with co-workers, etc..
Fantastic benefits (paid time off, health insurance, etc.)

    Cons

Growing pains due to rapid acceleration from child sponsorship acquisitions. This is during a time when most of Compassion's peers in the industry are seeing a decrease or no growth.
A massive internal project to replace outdated internal customer management solution is taking too long and diverting attention away from projects that need resources.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on Jesus. I appreciate your attention to Christian values when some other ministries have made poor decisions by distancing themselves from their Christian roots.

I worked at Compassion International (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work Culture is great. People are friendly and always willing to help. Employees are all united and working for the same cause.

    Cons

Big corporation. Can be very seriously since it is dealing with children's lives in 3rd world country, so the motivation can not be based on money but all on the mission of the organization.
