I have been working at CompuCom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You don't work from an office generally as a tech, you start from your home and end your day at your home, you rarely have to interact with supervisors face-to face (other than over the phone or meetings). Hours are semi-flexible. Mileage and hourly pay while driving to and from service sites. On-call pay.

    Cons

Company relies heavily on metrics as a way to gauge your performance in the field, raises are often conveniently forgotten about or denied for various bogus reasons, no cost of living increases for years on end. Only way to get an increase at all is to threaten to go elsewhere. High turn-around due to low starting wages. High-stress environment, On-call pay is non-negotiable at $12 per 24 hour shift and depending on service area, on-call may be every week or every other week.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect, treat them like adults that you don't have to hand-hold at every step of the way. Reward your loyal employees with more than just "atta-boy's", contrary to what you might believe, employees cannot live on those. Keeping your loyal employees at the bottom of the pay scale and giving them exceeds expectations on reviews year after year and no salary increase or additional compensation is a very cheap and cold way to show your lack of appreciation for the hard work that they have done for you. Metrics are not a one-stop shop for gauging the employees adherence to the processes and how well they perform... There ARE human beings behind those numbers on the spreadsheets you're scrutinizing.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not many other then the customer site I support. Great people, terrific atmosphere.

    Cons

Where does one begin? You know an organization is in deep trouble when they have to post fake Positive reviews on Glassdor to compensate for the true reviews of current and former employees. The already woeful benefits are literally being chipped away on a daily basis, they don't provide any basic tools, they've outsourced their internal Help Desk, which is hard to communicate with by the internal employees - And that is the product being sold to our dwindling customer base? No wonder they are losing customers at an alarming rate. There are virtually no humans in their HR department, and incompetence runs wild in their Benefits department. The private equity firm that owns Compucom has determined that having a "No Raises, No Cost Of Living" business model works in Compucom's case. I'm afraid that the fact is that this Company is in deep financial trouble and I just don't see it improving anytime soon.

    Advice to Management

Sell off the assets, and allow your front line techs, those who are the money makers, to find meaningful employment elsewhere. You're losing the patient.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with! The ability to learn something new is always there if one decided to take advantage of the opportunity.

    Cons

However...there are always those who would rather decide NOT to take free opportunity.
Personal growth has high potential. Pocketbook will have zero growth and will infact decline as no raises (not even yearly) and no other financial incentives are available. Might as well be a 1099 contractor...at least in that case you could have expenses to write off

    Advice to Management

Institute a program to provide better (more usable) benefits that include a structurized incentive-based pay system that puts out rewards to the employees that are on the ground completing assignments.
