I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Get way to gain experience. Team members are generally great to learn from.

    Cons

This company will have you stuck where you are. The general attitude from management is "You're lucky to have a job." Company more concerned about making money, even from those break their backs for them. You aren't an employee, you are a tool to increase profits. No raises, no job security, no loyalty even for those that are the most loyal employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate your employees or you'll find yourself losing contracts left and right. If not contracts, your employees will start to jump ship with your attitude towards them. When you make an employee make a commitment, be prepared to make the same commitment to the employee.

I have been working at CompuCom as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Few. You get a paycheck, when they remember. Holiday pay. They pay for like 7 holidays.

    Cons

Sub-contracting. Most of their 'employees' aren't even employees. They're contracted to do contract work for other companies. They offer benefits, such as paid time off/sick pay, medical and dental and such, but not only do you pay the premiums (in this case, not a misnomer), but they also drop your salary for each benefit you take. My contract is with Intel. It's common knowledge that Compucom has, in it's contract with Intel, a yearly pay increase for each contractor, but the contractors never see this money. The company also offers almost no opportunity for growth. One guy has been trapped here for 19 years, poor sod. I think he said he got one pay increase in that time. When complaints about pay or benefits are brought to senior management, they offer that you could find a different job. Essentially, their business model is exploiting their employees.

    Advice to Management

Reorganize. If that means you loose your job, so be it.
