I have been working at CompuCom full-time

    Pros

Good stepping stone if you don't mind being underpaid and micromanaged by underqualified IT Coordinators

    Cons

    - Assigns techs to long-term upper level "projects", without changing your job title, so they won't have to give you a salary increase
    - Assigns underqualified (zero basic computer knowledge) IT Coordinators, who used to be underqualified techs
    - Lead IT Coordinator's advice in every meeting is, "Just be grateful you have a job here."
    - Never gives raises or bonuses

    Advice to Management

Hire IT Coordinators with at least basic computer knowledge (A+, Network+, etc.)

I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

CompuCom provides the resources for continued education. They also provide a modest health care package as a full time employee. Many of the positions at CompuCom are contractor based, so if a contract with a client is ending, CompuCom does try to fit you in another position before having to let you go.

    Cons

No annual raises, regardless of job performance. Although I was a full time CompuCom employee, I was working onsite at a large international client. This made advancement difficult if non existing.I felt a large lack of communication between management and their employees.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider annual raises and performance reviews and awards to hard working employees. Close the gap on limited communication with employees who aren't working in HQ.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No supervision. No oversight. No one is dotting i's or crossing t's on your work. Free certifications. Some fellow employees care about your development.

    Cons

Pay is extremely low for the work done. As others have noted, no raises. If you live in a big city, avoid this company like the plague. As other techs in your area become disillusioned with the company they'll dump things on newer techs with little to no training. Certifications are great, but don't replace practical training.

    Advice to Management

    Burn in hell.

    Pros

The environment was excellent. I had a chance to work with excellent people and everyone on the team worked well together.

    Cons

Only received 1 raise since working for Compucom for 10 years and only 4 bonuses. Management did not help in promoting growth. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees. Should work better towards retaining talent.

I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're an off-site employee, some of the companies they support are really good. But the chances of you getting hired directly by that other company are slim to none.

    Cons

    -lousy benefits
    -forced overtime
    -extremely low pay
-no raises or bonuses(unless you consider $300/year to be a bonus)
    -no room to grow

If you're considering these guys, then you'd better be in desperate need of some money. You can definitely get more else.

    Advice to Management

Start paying some more respectable wages. Your rates are a joke, some people are barely making minimum wage.

I have been working at CompuCom (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Experience for new guys joining IT desktop support field is really good. Good in that there's so much work and so many responsibilities they don't tell you as part as your job description that you become better than you think. There will be no place that

    Cons

Been with the same client for almost 10 years and the original IT company did offer raises and such. Then it went down hill when Compucom took over. Constant threats to do your job or lose your job. Morale is really low among the techs. No recognition, no raises, no offers for contractors, long hours, short handed support, no managers on site, no time off during major projects (management still not on site), bad or no benefits. This company is pure slavery.

    Advice to Management

Some techs are truly spectacular at their job. Their morale is so low though one struggles to be motivated to leave. You are about to go into the tank when they finally leave.
