I have been working at CompuCom full-time

    Pros

Good stepping stone if you don't mind being underpaid and micromanaged by underqualified IT Coordinators

    Cons

    - Assigns techs to long-term upper level "projects", without changing your job title, so they won't have to give you a salary increase
    - Assigns underqualified (zero basic computer knowledge) IT Coordinators, who used to be underqualified techs
    - Lead IT Coordinator's advice in every meeting is, "Just be grateful you have a job here."
    - Never gives raises or bonuses

    Advice to Management

Hire IT Coordinators with at least basic computer knowledge (A+, Network+, etc.)

I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most people working there are good people.

    Cons

Now that they're owned by a holding company they are continually cutting benefits and perks. Also no loyalty to employees.

    Advice to Management

Run the company for the long term and not the short term just to make a buck!

I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fast paced environment with opportunities in select areas of the structure.

    Cons

Recent management change has led to moving large numbers of jobs to Mexico and India. Their main focus recently has been to cut costs as deeply and quickly as possible even if it means laying off or driving out workers with years of inside knowledge. They keep as many temporary workers as possible and avoid converting them to direct employment if possible.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so quick to eliminate talent thinking that everyone is replaceable.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time

    Pros

Typically low work load, (depending on contract) and several available schedules

    Cons

Rampart favoritism, no merit/yearly/cost of living raises. Hard to get promoted

    Advice to Management

Stop taking the cheapest route on everything. Switching from a robust office suite (industry standard) to free google to save money makes people nervous.

I have been working at CompuCom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility at work. Time off allowance. Relationship with local team members.

    Cons

Not a positive culture. Buzz words that equate to RIF's; ACE, BluePrint. People are CC's most valuable asset, unfortunately they no longer value people. Trying to be all things to all clients; asking techs making $15/hr to have network, cisco, server, D/T, L/T, wire/cabling,scale certifications. Currently in the process of opening brick and mortar stores selling over priced and refurbed devices. A technology company that is living in the stoneage with regard to systems, etc. Looks good on the surface but underneath its a mess. The focus is on cost cutting versus servicing the clients or taking care of associates.

    Advice to Management

No advice to executive leadership. They have their plan and marching orders from thlee. Good luck with the stores; I suspect they are bleeding profusely. Just hope the good people still here land in a better place when this thing is sold or split up. Its coming:).
