    Casual yet professional

    Pros

comScore is a great place to work. There is a real spirit of innovation and creativity. There are very few problems with office politics and the upper management is very accessible. Has the perks of both a small and large company. Decent time off and good benefits.

    Cons

High amounts of customization for clients means that there is some inconsistency in certain applications within the company and poor documentation on the more advanced product details. There is a pretty steep learning curve to attain more than average proficiency.

    Great Place to Start Out

Sep 29, 2016 - Senior Client Insights Analyst in Reston, VA

    Pros

comScore is a respected industry leader in audience measurement. Working in the digital space, our data isn't perfect but you can tell clients feel it's the best out there. Coming out of school you get thrown into the fire pretty quickly. This can be a good thing as you are forced to learn new skills and your resume evolves in rapid fashion. The Reston office has a great twenty-something community ideal for making friends out of school and networking across different verticals. comScore is a unique company which offers big responsibility right away with competitive compensation hiring out of school.

    Cons

The company has been through some turmoil recently and it has kept upper management distracted a bit (understandably). Teams can be set in their ways and depending on the team long hours from younger employees and shorter hours from older employees can be common. comScore can try to be everything for everyone and I think that definitely affects my team. The desire to answer every question can takeaway from the ability to answer a few questions more completely. Constant changing of priorities can make accomplishing goals difficult.

    Comscore Response

    Recruiting

Thanks for the thoughtful review. We agree that career pathing is of the utmost importance. We feel particularly strong about this as it relates to recent graduates. We want to make sure we are constantly challenging them, and providing growth opportunities. Each generation of workers has a different set of values and aspirations, so that can be a bit of a moving target, but one that we need to stay on top of. We agree that the focus in 2016 was a bit erratic, but it was a truly unique year for the company. That said, Gian has lined out a good path forward for all comScorians, so we feel positive about where we are headed.

Great industry clout, but US focused and quarterly driven

    Pros

Developing some very interesting products and solutions for the digital industry. The company - and hence the employees - is viewed as an independent third-party to the media buyers and sellers. Flexible time off policy, but work from home is normal.

    Cons

Senior Management focus really on US products and not much of US products launched outside of the US. Some markets get more products than others. There is no roll out plan for the markets.

    Pros

People working there are brilliant. They can solve so many digital problems for customers, it is truly amazing. All good hard workers.

    Cons

Management went downhill and has not found someone who can rise the company up to excel.

    Politics rule, unreliable management

Sep 23, 2019 - Seniro Systems Engineer in Amsterdam

    Pros

None what-so-ever. Including location. Engineers wanting to work in Amsterdam, get a job in the city!

    Cons

Started going wrong with comscore even before I was hired when they kept actively approaching me for an application engineering position where I kept telling them I was only interested in systems engineering job. Once hired as a systems engineer, three month in they had the heart to change the job from systems to application engineering. Lower management treated engineers as complete idiots and did not accept any form of criticism. It even got to physical threats when 'refusing to listen and comply', no joke. Needles to say, within no time what-so-ever I left and many engineers with me. Some of these managers are still in that position, which is not a surprise. They know who they are. On top, pay is mediocre at best ans application engineering is learning a trade useless outside the company.

    Pros

Great co-workers, excited customers, innovative products. People love their jobs and have fun working together and learning new things. Fast paced environment.

    Cons

Management turmoil. The senior management team has gone through a lot of ups and downs and changes. Communication to the company employees is poor and priorities change quickly and sometimes without notice.
