I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is excellent. The operation is relatively easy. I have to add more words in order to meet the minimum, so please excuse the rest of my unnecessary babble.

    Cons

Union is difficult to work with. The company is downsizing. I have to add more words in order to meet the minimum, so please excuse the rest of my unnecessary babble

    Advice to Management

Give some capital to the facility so mechanics are not repeatedly putting band aids over junk. I have to add more words in order to meet the minimum, so please excuse the rest of my unnecessary babble

    Pros

Average benefits for a fortune 500 company. Hassle free employment for the most part. Pay is a little above average for the area. Could be an excellent place to work but to many politics! Management more concerned about looking good and climbing corporate ladder!

    Cons

Company punishes every one for a few bad employees and never rewards or mentions good employees for job well done. Employees not allowed to purchase company stock. Company only concern is making the stock holders happy at the expense of its employees. Employees treated as a number. Company more concerned about blaming employees than finding solutions. Company does not care what employees think about the products they make and corporate has one size fits all mentality for all their plants. Very unorganized in my opinion. Blind leading the blind operation.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and you get as good as you give!

    Pros

    Salary in Omaha is awesome

    Cons

Fewer people for the same amount of work, decision makers can't articulate what they want, limited, if any, development, limited work perks, no travel, no catered lunches, etc.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your high performers otherwise they will leave. I've seen so many talented people leave and tribal knowledge is lost. Rebuilding (if possible) takes so long and performance suffers.

    Pros

The company has taken its food safety failures with Peter Pan seriously

    Cons

Management seriously botched the Ralcorp acquisition, ultimately destroying billions of dollars of value before selling the private label business to TreeHouse Foods

    Advice to Management

Stick to what you are good at

    Pros

Solid benefits and solid work. Strong business with a very large employee base. Long term potential is there with lots of areas to move into. Good work life balance as they offer plenty of time off from the day you start.

    Cons

Political stereotypes are huge. Growth is very limited based on required time not proven potential. To often great talent is lost due to typical large corporate policies. The other problem is they pay under the industry standard for size of this company in the area. Longevity of the company is questionable due to recent changes in leadership.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better and reward proven success prior to simply time employed.

I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company is reinventing itself with the upcoming spin of the LW division with remaining organization becoming Conagra Brands. High energy, vibrant culture, a clear focus on growth. Omaha is a great complement to Chicago and is proud to be the home of 1200 employees. Great senior leadership team that is aligned on the future and values employees.

    Cons

As part of reinvention comes change, a focus both internally and externally and the need for nimbleness to stay competitive. Change is a constant which can be empowering for some and overwhelming for others.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on the vibrant culture and transforming the way we think and the will to win.

    Pros

Enjoyed co-workers. Challenging and interesting work at times.

    Cons

The move downtown was not appealing to all.

    Advice to Management

Be careful what "talent" you are looking to find in the city without valuing all those that have years of company experience.

    Pros

Great Benefits. Procter & Gamble Reliability Program will take any manufacturing company to World Class Status if it is strictly adhered to.

    Cons

No plant level leadership. Adherence to company policy and procedures are loosely administered and local labor contract is open to a wide variety of interpretation.

    Advice to Management

Tighten up on policies and reward your high achievers accordingly. Vendors hold ConAgra to higher standards that the plant holds itself to.
