    Horrible Management

    Pros

Cheap lunch for the time being until the company relocates.

    Cons

I've worked here for the past 7 years. Management doesn't care if the job is done right or not. Alot of them have been here for 25+ years and still running this place like it was the 80's. I wouldn't recommend this place to an intern or even a homeless person looking for a job. Divisions are being sold off and outsourced and employees are being laid off. The CIO and most of the IT managers are clueless on how to manage their depts. Raises and promotions are based on your friendship and race. Management obviously favors those who are not minorities.

Free breakfast and lunch. Job security. Great people to work with

    Cons

Pay is very low for entry level employees. No upward mobility. Not a great place to learn for younger employees

If you have experience, don't even bother. You'll be disappointed.

    Pros

It's nice to have free lunch. But even with free lunch, it feels like a high school cafeteria environment.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the negative reviews are all true. If you have good experience already, I wouldn’t bother coming here. I was only there for a year, but the whole place is dysfunctional and with this old-school behind the times mentality. My manager in particular was completely lacking in experience and judgement, and it seems to be that way for many. Also, many people who have been there for so long would never make it in today's business world. Many are lazy and lack professionalism. I've also never seen so much nepotism in my life!

    Poor Employee Experience and Pay

    Pros

    Free quality breakfast and lunch

    Cons

No flexibility, front desk staff monitor employees arrival and departure and keeps a tally if an employee comes in late or leaves early and reports it to HR and Senior Management. No leadership vision.

    Pros

Some of the folks still have heart, but the owner has poisoned most of management. Free breakfast and lunch

    Cons

Confused and misguided upper and middle management. Lots of bullying. Favored persons are immune. Poor performers are allowed to stay while some who helped build the business and were productive have been fired. Many people leaving for other jobs. HR department is powerless.

Ever seen the movie Brazil? I feel like I'm stuck in a surreal Kafka story.

    Pros

free breakfast and lunch decent medical, dental and vision 9 to 5 hours semi casual environment for the Creative dept.

    Cons

Not encouraged to think outside the box Not respected for your knowledge or skills...they are more interested in sheep who fall in line and do what they are told. Promotions are based on tenure and social relationships not ability or knowledge. Not interested in your opinions or suggestions Slow to change. Slow to install new processes, better technology, etc. Office is run like a 1950's factory. Just go to your desk and do your job. Poor workflow and little to no actual process for graphic arts production. Everyday is flying by the seat of your pants. Social cliques are very prevalent and I would even argue there are elements of a hostile work environment. One Art Director was fired for trumped up reasons because she didn't "fit in" in her group. Management is very inadequate. ALL of the Creative managers are lacking experience and/ or training on how to ACTUALLY manage. Poor understanding, education and skills for many employees yet they get promoted anyway. Like I said, just go to your desk and do your job...don't rock the boat...and you get promoted if you stay long enough. Family operated. Some of them actually work hard. Some don't show up at all. Decisions are based on what people think will please their superiors (especially the owner and his sons) not on any kind of actual market data, tested methods, or higher education. Employees lie to get a job completed early to make themselves look better. You can't go against the family. Even....no ESPECIALLY when they are flat out wrong. You're expected to just do it with a smile. Long live the King! In short, ALL the bad things you think of when you hear the word "corporation" come to mind.

Nice people; not well organized, managed nor do they reward employees fairly

    Pros

Free breakfast and lunch daily Nice location (not the building itself which is very old but the grounds and surrounding areas are breautiful)

    Cons

Raises are very minimal and do not reflect increases in dutie, responsibilies or position Bonuses are miniscule - one of the biggest company's I've worked for (with NO DEBT may I add, by far the lowest bonuses I've ever recieved or heard of) Preferential treatment given to friends of managers/executives Office politics comes into play largely at Conair. Internal relationships affect how others are treated and it's quite obvious and uncomfortable.

It was great until it lasted.

Oct 31, 2020 - Art Director in Stamford, CT

    Pros

Free breakfast and lunch. Cafeteria and maintenance people super friendly. I was lucky, I worked with an amazing team.

    Cons

Lots of small pitty talk behind your back, sometimes. Careful what comes out of your mouth. Perception is everything at Conair. Marketing team (Senior) could step it up. Upper marketing management needs new blood. The younger marketers are great! But their ideas get squash by upper management terrible ideas.
