I worked at Concentra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay was great after negotiating. The job itself isn't hard but as an xray tech you turn more into an MA. 80% of your job is drug screens followed by work injuries and employment physicals. You'll have an occasional xray.

    Cons

If you like being micro managed then concentra is your go to place to work. They constantly watch what you're doing. It's hit or miss with people you work with, but the patients aren't the most classy group to work with. It's alot of people coming for drug screens and work injuries.

    Advice to Management

Less micromanaging. More employee appreciation. Be more up front about how much MA work the xray techs will be doing.

I worked at Concentra full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy Job, do not need to be a good therapist to thrive in this setting, hands on is discouraged and documentation is easy and quick. Always have a MD or DO or PA or NP on staff so you have no real responsibilities and they do not expect much from therapy so you can kick the can if you want

    Cons

Workers compensation need I say more, no support from management at all, in fact they try to throw you under the bus if need be, have to deal with a lot of crap that you have no control of, work with not only other therapists and support staff and MDs and PAs, but also MAs and front office staff. Clinics are extremely busy and you have to see a lot of new patients without adequate time to see them. For some reason they think it is a priviledge to work here, but it is actually a much more stressful job than any other that I have had as a therapist in my whole career and you get much much less out of it. Patient's are essentially forced to come down to therapy, so it is as close to LTAC for outpatient therapy as you can be.

    Advice to Management

Support your clinicians better and do not change your plans every other week

I have been working at Concentra full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They offer a generous salary with limited to no experience.

    Cons

GOSSIP, GOSSIP, GOSSIP. If you like your business and current status to be spread amongst 13 center then this is the place for you. There is absolutely no professionalism. They are too busy gossiping to invest in your personal growth. There are no bonuses or raises unless you meet the quarterly goals which is rated by patients on a scale of 1-10. It is great to start your career for the experience and to put it on your resume. However, don't expect any training, they kind of do the whole jump in the water and see if you can swim.

    Advice to Management

Try to invest your energy in coaching and leading your staff.

    Pros

    -Great experience for recent grads
    -Good hours
    -Many skills learned
    -Work with various people

    Cons

-Management is unforgiving with emergencies requiring time off
-Very unprofessional at times, upper management/clinical staff talks down to/ yells at you
-Unorganized training schedules to learn/ update skills
-Little recognition for going above and beyond.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with a little more respect. With out medical assistants, this company would fall apart.
