    Some Pros, but more Cons

    Pros

They give a generous discount. Depending on the manager, hours can be flexible. Seeing animals come in is always a plus and some locations allow rescue cats. Reps occasionally bring food, and sometimes you get free samples.

    Cons

Low pay. Most people start at minimum wage. It takes awhile to get a raise and usually it’s only .25-.50 per hour. Very boring at times when things are slow and everything has been done. Not much room to advance unless you want to work 50 hours and generally 6 days a week like the managers (they have to work 55-60 hours a week during the Christmas season.) Too cold in the winter and sometimes too warm in the summer as it’s required to keep the thermostat set at 65 in the winter and 75 in the summers and managers aren’t allowed to change it. You aren’t ever allowed to sit, even when it’s slow and you’ve done all your tasks. Even management can’t sit, and they have to work at least one 12 hour shift a week.

    Pros

    You get a paycheck wow

    Cons

They do not care about you. Stuck in the 80's. Awful Pay. Expect you to be their family. Basically want you to work until you die. Won't hire anyone that's not white. I could go on and on. Don't work here unless you like to be disrespected.

    Pros

Had some of the best memories here, with co workers.

    Cons

Not very diverse, in fact the Company Christmas party had a whopping amount of 3 black people there, out of the whole state. Not a single one had a position of store management. They will work you, as long as they don’t have to pay you what you’re worth. so always keep that in mind.

    Generally a good place

    Pros

After three months or so, the employee discount kicks in. It's surprisingly generous--you pay just a bit more than the wholesale cost of items. On the whole, the average customer tends to be pleasant. It's not a discount pet store so it seems to attract a more civilized crowd. The work is varied and petting dogs that come into the store is a perk. There's a lot of regular customers, which is nice and many people are happy when you've helped them. Management at my particular store is good; I can't provide feedback on other stores.

    Cons

You will never get full-time hours. All employees are kept under 30 hours per week, with the exception of the store manager and the assistant manager. No benefits and pay is on the lower side, though above minimum wage.

    DO NOT WORK HERE

    Pros

I can't exactly think of many pros other than you learn a lot about different foods.

    Cons

POOR "management" who's only there maybe 15 hours a week and leaves his store for you to take care of. They don't allow lunch breaks. They can "fire you for no reason". Awful owners. Treat employees extremely unfair. Pay is AWFUL, minimum wage. They DONT follow their plan of raises, and you never end up getting them unless pestering them!
