I worked at Concordia University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A value, christian ethics related university; friendly staff, some highly qualified faculty and staff; great potential for becoming a top christian university.

    Cons

Compensation and benefits need to be reviewed soon to bring up to national standards for university pay and benefits.

    Pros

The work hours were very flexible and I was always able to get another shift or give my shift away when I could not work

    Cons

It was difficult to deal with people who do not abide to the rules of the weight room

    Advice to Management

    Improvements to the facilities

  9. "Copy Editor for student newspaper, The Sower"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

I never thought I would enjoy journalism before I worked for The Sower! While on staff for the past five semesters, I have improved my own writing style, and I have been encouraged to learn how to find and hold pleasant conversation with complete strangers. As Copy Editor, I have branched out and worked with other writers' articles.

    Cons

Not many hours are offered for journalists on the newspaper staff, only about 4-6 per week, but sometimes with school work that's about all I could manage anyway.

    Advice to Management

We need to advertise more for other students to be on staff. It's fun, and a great experience, and it builds confidence; we need to show the student body that being a part of the Sower is beneficial in so many ways!

I worked at Concordia University part-time

    Pros

The only good thing about this place was that I didn't have to travel far from school and work.

    Cons

They just want to hire the cheapest labor.
