I worked at Concur full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff training, company culture, global workforce, end less work opportunities. SAP structure will help, good to employees, well looked after

    Cons

No customer service, lack of innovation, old and tired products, slow moving, needs new blood, needs to reinvent it self

    Advice to Management

    Focus more on customer service

I have been working at Concur full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome work environment. Great managers. Fantastic Teammates. Best place I've ever worked!

    Cons

After the SAP acquisition, things became a lot more "corporate" rather than the small company feel it had before. But being a part of SAP has been great!

    Advice to Management

I must simply say, keep doing what your doing. I have no complaints at all!

I worked at Concur full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good opportunities for career growth. Good managers (no micro managing). Flexible work environment. Overall good culture. Once in a while I felt the company was lazy in recognizing your bonuses but overall I felt it's not a bad place to work. The management was flexible with my personal situation and let me work remote on multiple occasions.

    Cons

Hard to think of any. Few times I felt the managers don't help much with the career growth but at times that was not an issue. The employee training programs are missing.

    Advice to Management

Increase team building events. Have a budget allocated to send every team member to send for some additional training programs or boot camps.

I have been working at Concur full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Positive environment, good communication from leadership, nice emphasis on work/life balance for a tech company. Solid backing with SAP behind the company - but still feels kind of like a start-up (in all the right ways).

    Cons

In some areas the separate product groups feel a little siloed - there is not complete alignment between teams, or in communication from the teams - but this seems to be improving.

    Advice to Management

As Concur becomes more integrated into SAP, don't let Concur stop feeling like Concur! This is even more important with the departures of Elena Donio and Steve Singh.

I have been working at Concur full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Friendly, family like culture
Fulfills a definite need in the world with their products
Stable company that is supportive of it's employees

    Cons

    No longer innovative
Everything has slowed down, much paper clip pushing
    Culture shift to SAP bureaucracy
    Risk averse

    Advice to Management

Become SAP, just engage in that
Figure out how to be innovative and get product out that satisfies the needs of the people that use your stuff

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, awesome management, great co-workers, industry leader, work from home, good benefits and cool product.

    Cons

    HR hiring process is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Keep up trying to implement new training solutions for client support and stay connected with your employees and you'll be fine :)

I have been working at Concur full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The entire experience of the interview process was a pleasant one. It took around 2-3 weeks for the 4 rounds on interview process, and I got an offer within 2 days of the final round. The entire team from Recruiter to Hiring manager was very friendly, understanding, encouraging and helpful.

    Cons

The 2nd round coding challenge is a little tough. They ask 2 coding questions and the combined time limit to solve them is 30 minutes, which can get a little tough

    Advice to Management

    Keep the good work going

I worked at Concur full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The leadership and management at Concur is absolutely amazing. While working there, it became very obvious why Concur is so successful. This company has excellent vision, takes great strategic steps in the market, and embraces innovation. I worked in the Expense product line in the technology group. I loved everything about this company. The work-life balance is embraced and the company embraces the understanding that employees have families that are important to them.

    Cons

Concur struggles to attract top talent because companies like Amazon and Google are just throwing money at engineers to bring them on. Concur pays well, but they concentrate on the other benefits of having a career. I do wish they were able to pay more competitively in the market but, again, working there is so enjoyable it pretty much makes up for it.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

I have been working at Concur full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work hours, established product, good benefits

    Cons

Unsavory business practices in SMB. Leadership looks the other way. Losing good long term employees to other organizations. Don't seem to care.

    Advice to Management

Restore Concur to the great culture you're known for. Direct sales managers are great and in the trenches with employees but senior leaders are out of touch and will stop at nothing to reach revenue goals including accepting business that is neither good for Concur or its clients. Stop looking the other way! Business units are ultra competitive with each other. What happened to "we win as a team"?
