Interned there last summer in fashion department. Loved it and learned a lot, the people were great to work with.

    Pros

Very talented people that are willing to help and show you how to do things if you are unsure. The atmosphere is very inspiring and motivates you to do your best. The efforts you put into your time there will pay off and I learned more than I expected about the magazine industry and loved working with everyone there.

    Cons

Long hours and a lot of hard work but worth it if you want to get into the editorial industry.

Go Here to Learn, But Don't Stick Around

Jan 15, 2021 - Marketing Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

    - Strong creative talent, as a marketer it is a dream to collaborate with edit on select programs - Learn a lot early in your career by getting thrown into the fire - No day is the same. One day you're organizing an event, the other a video shoot, the other just writing decks. For anyone wanting to start out in brand marketing, I recommend it.

    Cons

    - Senior-level people who have only worked at Conde for years are not well rounded and adopt the horrible / mean-spirited work culture. Don't become them. I've gone on to another company and finally see that this is not a normal way to work. - The hours and pay are not good. When you ask senior-level people for a raise after years of being there, they'll act like they're doing you a favor when they give you a 2% increase. Meanwhile, they've all been promoted 5 times in the past 3 years. It's comical.

    Pros

Recognition of brands. Glamour. Prestige. Summer Fridays!!

    Cons

Too many to mention. Working in a shark tank, the company culture will never join the current climate until they get rid of the divas, which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. Count on long hours and few thanks.

    Pros

Having Conde Nast or one of the publication names on your resume looks great. Smart colleagues overall. Cafeteria in the building is a bonus since taking a real lunch break is frowned upon.

    Cons

Long hours and no consideration for employees personal lives or work/life balance. Benefits presented in employment offer were taken away or restricted after I began. Perks are few and far between on the marketing side (you're at the bottom of the pecking order).
