Great company to travel and work for!
Dec 6, 2017 - Linguist in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Been with Conduit for about 9 years and have to say that it's been great overall. Have learned a great deal and have really gotten the opportunity to grow as a linguist throughout the years. Management is super friendly and really works with you to coordinate steady work. Pay is great and you get to travel to places that you would never think of going. It pays off to be flexible and open to new opportunities as you get to really master the job.
Cons
Personally, there's only one con: you are away from your family sometimes for a bit if you travel, but the pay and experience outweigh this.

The best linguist company to work for.
Mar 3, 2011 - Linguist in Grand Junction, Optional[CO]RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company is response to their employees. There is an easy flow of information between administration staff and the linguists working out in the field. They pay promptly and well. They encourage us to be the best we can and supply the linguists with the tools to get there. Even though it is work that is as-needed, they do their best to bridge the gaps from our local to giving us TDY assignments or transcription work at home.
Cons
The only downside is around holidays work and get slow down. Not the company fault. It is the up and downs of the government needs that slow during that time period.

Interesting work, poorly ran company.
Feb 8, 2016 - Spanish Analytical Linguist in Phoenix, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The work is interesting, especially if you're new to the industry. There are moments when it's even exciting. The people you'll work with are, for the most part, very friendly and the environment inviting. Most people either love the job or hate it. There's little in between.
Cons
There is little opportunity for growth. If you are selected to be in a leadership position the pay does not match the level of responsibility you are given. Everyone gets paid the same salary whether you have zero years of experience or 20 years of experience which makes people very frustrated and most people end up leaving after a few years. That same frustration makes it hard to incentivize employees with years of experience to help train new employees. This company is very top heavy. There is a clear distinction between the "office" employees and the linguists. Some employees in the corporate office are very condescending and unprofessional.

Great company to be part of!
Aug 11, 2017 - Spanish Linguists in Tucson, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great job straight out of college. Pay is great and you get to travel as much as you can, meeting new people and traveling to places you wouldn't normally not go to. Contrary to some of the complaints about Upper Management not being responsive, Rosie was a huge help and made the process idiot-proof for me. Communication with Upper Management has always been a positive experience for me. Looking forward to many more successful years with CLS.
Cons
As some other reviews have stated, the clearance process is a bit unpredictable but it is worth the wait once you have it.

Spanish translator
Jan 29, 2015 - Spanish Linguist in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
No really any pros. Unless you like to be singled out. But they sometimes do hire people with some knowledge.
Cons
They tell you to apply full time but they don't give you full time. Really there is no training and actually they don't do a very good job doing your clearance. They keep highering people even though there are no cases and each case lasts 30 days after that who knows. The person in charge that makes the schedules make them three days before the next week-so if you have another job they will single you out and not give you any hours. Some of the people they hire can't even speak Spanish or English properly. If you're used to working in an environment where The income isn't steady and you have to fight over favoritism and to get hours and listen to the other linguist complain about other linguist then this is for you. Ugh, there people are unprofessional and I will not put them on my resume.

Pros
Pay is $32 besides that- Stop giving the work to just one person, you will get swamped one day and everyone will walk away from you!
Cons
Poor management No work for a long time You don't hear nothing from this company for a long time Management horrible Clearance lady Rosie H will ignore your email and poorly communicates with you Stay away, not structured well. Manager and friends of managers will pick on you single you out and create a hostile environment, wake up and look into the work place further- case lead become trouble makers and create a lot of drama. They don't pick nice people to lead. I moved on but it's only a matter of time till I see harassment cases against your company.

Pros
The work load is great. Everyday is different. You really get to develop those analytical skills and to think outside the box. If you can travel and work is scarce in your area, the company would assign you to work in another state.
Cons
Company offers a 401k and health plans for full time employees. In the Northwest region work is scarce. Contract work.

Pros
Great co-workers, great clients to work for, great atmosphere.
Cons
No good benefits, no retirement, expensive health care, micro-managers, lack of proper policies and procedures, poorly run company, poor scheduling, hard to balance personal life due to poor work schedules.

Pros
I have worked for this company for some time now and they always pay on time. They are always fair and have been a good employer.
Cons
Yes, in the past there has been down time as work is a government contract. But the work is rewarding and it pays very well.

They were better in the past when quality was their focus and they stood out in their field.
Nov 19, 2014 - Spanish Analytical Linguist in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company had a great idea for many years in the past putting their money where their mouth was and demanding more from their employees which was rewarding. Contractors wanted to work with them because they stood out with different ideas and principles.
Cons
They USED to care about their product with quality employees, but now they seemigly fill seats like all their competition is known for doing. Employees have no sense of advancement and the company is less and less inclined to reward good work and loyalty.
