I have been working at Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee owned. Smart, hard working people. Not top heavy. If you can't cut it you won't last. Your experience there is what you make of it. If you want to work a lot of hours and advance, you can. If you want to work 9-5 and spend time with family and friends, you can.

    Cons

Salary and benefits could be better. Yearly bonus is very small. Sometimes you get pigeon-holed with the kind of work that you do. There are very specific work groups and sometimes it's hard to cross over.

    Advice to Management

Don't be such a white boys' club. Get more women and some color up in there. Give more outside of hte Principal and Associate levels the opportunity to be stakeholders. Peolple care more about a company when they own a piece of it.

    Pros

Generally better pay compared to similar companies. I liked the people I worked with every day. Generally, there is a good work-life balance as well.

    Cons

You didn't have much of a say in anything. If they want you to work on THIS project, not THAT one, you're stuck. Also, many have said that advancement opportunities are lacking.

    Advice to Management

Allow opportunities for advancement and be more flexible in general.

    I have been working at Conestoga-Rovers & Associates full-time

    Pros

Senior staff provide for lots of flexibilty in work environment and allow individuals to develop freely
Noone will hold you back if you are a performer and demonstrate ability
Once was a lot of pressure to billable hours which is with any consulting company but the metrics are changing as company grows/develops
Great people to work with both junior and senior positions.
Lots of variety of projects and experiences
Lots of opportunities to transfer within company

    Cons

Different groups are better to work with than others. A good manager makes the job! Some managers not so good. Some managers are best in the industry.
Difficult management structure to understand, so many different groups, takes a while to figure it out for a new person

    Advice to Management

Watch the changing trends in the workforce and adjust.
