    Pros

Great innovative product that is desperately needed. Great working environment and co-workers.

    Cons

Lack of appreciation and awareness of employees day to day activites.

    Advice to Management

To better the product and company you must make sure the foundation is sound, which would be your employees.

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Conformis full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours New technology Tour of manufacturing facility was insightful and helped further understanding of the business

    Cons

Engineers should not be hired to be CAD monkeys Growth opportunities are limited Advancement system has minimum required time period in position regardless of output/performance

    Advice to Management

Be honest in the interview process. If you skew job growth or advancement opportunities to look like they exist but don't actually exist, you'll lose the candidate anyway.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Conformis full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Competitive benefits, ample PTO, flexible hours

    Cons

Management in the CAD department has no idea what it's doing. While it's nice to see supervisors who have been with ConforMIS for many years, they have simply risen in the ranks to managerial roles with no real training. It become apparent when supervisors are unable to solve simple conflicts, and insist on not trusting their engineers with some of the more challenging non-production projects. There also is horrible disconnect...

    Advice to Management

I hate to say it, but having stopped hiring CAD Engineers with 4-year college degrees has been the smartest thing this company has done. There's no reason to hire someone for the CAD position with anything more than a 2-year degree. If there are CAD Engineers you want to stay, you should treat them that way and at least promote some of them. A minor change in title can go much further than you think. Before you know it,...

I worked at Conformis full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

CAD group has flexible hours and reasonable vacation time. Product line is good but most likely not sustainable in current model

    Cons

CAD engineers are not treated as professionals. Work is highly repetitive and does not build skills that can be applied elsewhere. Essentially an hourly position - engineers are given productivity ratings by doing work faster than peers. Engineers are not given the ability to affect change. Supervisors treat their employees like units. There is no give-and-take, most employees work through lunch to increase productivity...

    I worked at Conformis

    Pros

Good vacation time and health insurance. That's really about it.

    Cons

Very toxic atmosphere in the CAD department. Everyone was interviewing and looking for other jobs. Management was not leading the company nor responsive to complaints. The pay is low, with raises less than inflation. Very high turnover rate. The position felt very 'hourly.' A certain amount of work was expected each day. Failure to hit those numbers would result in talks management and daily check ins. Felt like they...

    Advice to Management

You need to figure out how to right the ship in CAD. No one is happy, no one likes their job, everyone wants to quit. There are some very smart employees that are not being leveraged to their full potential, as they sit reviewing designs and completing the same menial tasks all day long. Never any real solutions to work load, just work harder and longer hours.
