I worked at Conformis full-time for more than a year

    Pros

some schedule flexibility in terms of arrival and departure (may no longer be true as I left about 18 months ago). novel tech allows you to spice up your resume. I would not work here unless you are fresh out of college and looking for a ~6 month job to build your resume. you should be actively looking for something better as soon as you start.

    Cons

-constant micro-management comes from ineffective team leads/supervisors, who fear repercussions from the upper management if their teams aren't hitting proper numbers. -half your time is spent reviewing work of others, which is the same work you design all day, makes for a highly boring day. -productivity is solely based on "production", ie # of designs you complete. time spent on side projects, quality meetings,...

    > This is 'not' a sales-centric company in the least, as it is driven by the CFO chipping-away at Sales income to show greater revenue growth every couple years. Sales Management support of Territory Sales Reps is lackluster at best. > 3 downward comp plan cuts over 6 years, which significantly erode a Sales Persons' income, and which disenfranchise Sales-Person growth financially, without new products to maintain...

    Advice to Management

Having an Executive Sales Management Team that can do little, nothing but a poor Sales Rep experience will result with this company until the CEO realizes that you can't show revenue growth by constantly chipping-away at valued Sales Reps comp plans.

I worked at Conformis full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

CAD group has flexible hours and reasonable vacation time. Product line is good but most likely not sustainable in current model

    Cons

CAD engineers are not treated as professionals. Work is highly repetitive and does not build skills that can be applied elsewhere. Essentially an hourly position - engineers are given productivity ratings by doing work faster than peers. Engineers are not given the ability to affect change. Supervisors treat their employees like units. There is no give-and-take, most employees work through lunch to increase productivity...

Current Employee - Quality Inspector in Wayland, MA

I have been working at Conformis for more than a year

      Pros

None. Stay away! Go elsewhere !

      Cons

Patient specific implants are way too costly to produce. Lead times are unrealistic and and impossible to meet a surgery date all at the price of quality. Upper management wants to pump these out like widgets. Patients beware. Go elsewhere. This company should not be producing anything that will be implanted. They're looking for $$$$$. Spend yours elsewhere, especially when it's being implanted into your body

      Advice to Management

Realize that your products have a huge affect on people's lives and is a difficult decision to make. Be more concerned about producing viable implants and worry later about profit. Better yet. Make chewable pet products. People will thank you for it , and the dogs will love it

I worked at Conformis full-time for more than a year

      Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for someone early in their career to grow and make an impact at the same time.

      Cons

It is a fast growing and relatively small company. This means there is little room for error which can be a stressful situation depending on the individual.

Best reasons to work here....?? ABSOLUTELY NOTHINGGGG!!!!!!!

      Cons

There isn't any good reasons to work here. They treat people like children and never want to listen to anything you have to say.... it's all about numbers. The pay sucks and they are a very cheap company when it comes to buying things the company needs when their policy is all about quality. There isn't ANY room for advancement. Working hard and dedication means NOTHING to them. There was a company outing a while ago...

      Advice to Management

Fire all upper management and supervisors. Find some people who actually has a clue! Learn to appreciate the fact that they wouldn't be as successful if it weren't for all the hardworking people ESPECIALLY operations. If you treat people like crap they won't work as hard and will mess things up on purpose because there's no appreciation. Good luck with all your lawsuits!!!!! 😀

I have been working at Conformis for less than a year

      Pros

Great office with a lot of smart, creative, and well-experienced individuals. The breakroom is nice, management is easy to approach, and free coffee.

      Cons

Some of the managers style is not directly approaching you with a problem, but instead talking to other managers and finding a solution without all the information

      Advice to Management

Confront individuals with issues when they occur, not weeks later after deliberation.

      I worked at Conformis

      Pros

Good vacation time and health insurance. That's really about it.

      Cons

Very toxic atmosphere in the CAD department. Everyone was interviewing and looking for other jobs. Management was not leading the company nor responsive to complaints. The pay is low, with raises less than inflation. Very high turnover rate. The position felt very 'hourly.' A certain amount of work was expected each day. Failure to hit those numbers would result in talks management and daily check ins. Felt like they...

      Advice to Management

You need to figure out how to right the ship in CAD. No one is happy, no one likes their job, everyone wants to quit. There are some very smart employees that are not being leveraged to their full potential, as they sit reviewing designs and completing the same menial tasks all day long. Never any real solutions to work load, just work harder and longer hours.

      Advice to Management

To better the product and company you must make sure the foundation is sound, which would be your employees.
